MTV's the State doesn't get talked about enough. It lead to Reno 911/Viva Variety and probably some other shows $240 worth of pudding. "Now I know you're wondering, Barry and Levon WHERE DID YOU GET 240 DOLLARS!?!" For a moment MTV quietly had the odd comedy/animation game on LOCK

I watched too much Comedy Central as a kid.
Jesus christ: Joel Hodgson, Andy Kindler, David Cross, Paul Feig, Morwenna Banks, Fred Stoller, Steve Bannos, Nick Bakay, and Doug Benson? What in the flippin' goddamn happened?

The funniest thing about Exit 57 (besides everything) was that Matthew McConaughey was such a big fan of the show, that he actually recreated one of his favorite sketches with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. A lot of people forget about The Idiot Box that Alex Winter created for MTV and was the springboard to Alex's cult classic Freaked. Alabama Begins new area code! OJ Simpson Found Not Guilty

"Bizarre", a Canadian series with John Byner and Bob Einstein, on which Einstein's "Super Dave" skits would regularly appear.
"The Frantics", a Canadian series which gave us the "Adventures of Mister Canoehead" and the classic "Tai Kwan Leep/Boot to the Head" skit and song.
"Smith & Smith" starring Steve and Morag Smith, which was the proving grounds for one of Canada's most enduring comedy characters, Red Green (who got his own series later).
