In making a bunch of Sporcle quizzes about the titleholders last decade (shameless plug, you can find them at the end of this post), it was interesting to see how much has changed over the last 10 years.
At the start of the decade, there were 8 titles being defended across 3 brands.
In the time since, 2 brands and 14 titles have been introduced, 4 titles and 1 brand have been retired and the Million Dollar Championship was brought back for a blink and you'll miss it spell.
On Jan 1st, 2010 the champions in the company were as follows:
WWE Champion -- Sheamus
World Heavyweight Champion -- Undertaker
ECW Champion -- Christian
IC Champion -- Drew McIntyre
US Champion -- The Miz
Unified Tag Team Champions -- DX
Women's Champion -- Michelle McCool
Diva's Champion -- Melina
Spoilering timeline of all the titles that were retired and introduced
In all that time, 190 people have held a WWE Championship title of some description and as of 31 Dec, 2019, the champions in the company are as follows
WWE -- Brock Lesnar
Universal -- Bray Wyatt
NXT -- Adam Cole
NXT UK -- Walter
Raw Womens -- Becky Lynch
SD Womens -- Bayley
NXT Womens -- Rhea Ripley
NXT UK Womens -- Kay Lee Ray
IC -- Shinsuke Nakamura
US -- Andrade
NA -- Roderick Strong
CW -- Angel Garza
Womens TT -- The Kabuki Warriors
Raw TT -- Viking Raiders
SD TT -- The New Day
NXT TT -- The Undisputed Era
NXT UK TT -- Gallus
24/7 -- R-Truth
I don't know if this is interesting to anyone, but it was interesting for me and thought I'd share.
So out of all of those reigns, is there a golden period you look back at fondly, or any reigns of individuals/teams that stand out be it for good or bad reasons?
