If I were a completely new fan, I would be so confused
What is Being the elite? I think they said something about YouTube but they never say what day or time or whose official channel it’s on. Or what the actual point of the show is.
Hell, I’m an internet fan who is aware of it but I’m not sure what the answers are

Yyyeah, this is a bit where I feel like they are trying so hard to not do the WWE "HASHTAG! NETWORK! BUZZWORDS! NINE NINETY NINE!" thing that it prevents them from doing something useful.

AEW feels like a hit sketch show were they forgot to show the openings of their all jokes.

They really do need to push or show more BTE Segments, since it's tied directly into the show itself, probably one of the things they should work on doing in the new year.

It is basically a weekly(Monday) sketch show where they keep semi-kayfabe and share some travel logs.
There is no fixed time but is usally after noon. But yeh either don't reference it or shill it a little.
I am on the camp of just showing the best non-kayfabe breaking segments on Dynamite.

It's the same question I ask myself when watching a youtube exclusive WWE promo from a wrestler, "Why isn't this on the main show?"

It's the same question I ask myself when watching a youtube exclusive WWE promo fro ma wrestler, "Why isn't this on the main show?" To be fair, I wouldn't really want much - if anything - from BTE on the main show. Maybe just because the humor doesn't work for me, but what I do like really doesn't seem like a good fit for the show.

Maybe just because the humor doesn't work for me, but what I do like really doesn't seem like a good fit for the show. They would probably do well with short recaps of important plot points integrated into Dynamite, as well as actually mentioning where to go to find BTE. But airing BTE wholesale would be really dumb.

They'd have to tone down BTE a lot if they aired it on regular TV. I think what they could do is put BTE videos on the main AEW Youtube Channel in addition to keeping its own channel.

They definitely need to promote it more and make the casual fan aware of where to find it. Recap the key storyline clips on Dynamite of they are important. They can't assume all the TV viewers are us internet geeks. It's the same problem they have when introducing new characters...give the TV viewer the background, don't assume we already know who they are.

Never mind BTE they really have never clearly defined who exactly The Elite are in general. That's why when Page does an angle where he has left The Elite it's kinda like "Uh...okay?" I think in this regard AEW is veering into TNA territory in terms of the show feeling like an inaccessible world that the uninitiated viewer doesn't get.

Serious question.. as much as AEW listens to their fans, and generally responds to their feedback.. how are they still so far out of the loop in regards to promoting BTE on Dynamite? I mean, no channel flipping viewer is going to know shit about BTE. I dont get it?

I think in this regard AEW is veering into TNA territory in terms of the show feeling like an inaccessible world that the uninitiated viewer doesn't get. The casual fan wasn't shocked Page left the Elite because they probably didn't know that he was part of the group or like you said never knew who is in the group officially. They don't talk about why there is a group, who the group officially consists of. So when Page turns on Kenny it won't be a huge deal because we don't know their history together outside of a few tag matches.

I mean I could get your point if it was a different time, but now everyone has a smartphone in their pocket and if they were that confused and cared enough to find out what being the elite is then I’m sure they’d google it.

Or they could do some actual storytelling that doesn't involve viewers having to do a bunch of homework.
Serious question: Who is in the Elite right now? I know 4 guys for sure (Cody, Kenny, Bucks), but after that I know Page has quit for whatever reason. Is anyone else in it? Dustin? Jobber guys like Nakazawa and Cutler? Or are they just tag alongs? Was MJF a member for a few months?

It's just Cody, the Bucks, and Kenny. I think Marty's still technically a member, but he's not in AEW.
When it comes to this sort of thing, AEW is going to have to feel out that sweet spot between expecting the fans to be in the know like they currently do and treating the fans like complete idiots like WWE does. The former is expected when you've cultivated your core fanbase primarily through BTE and other similar avenues so they just expect it to be a given that they'd watch it, but it hurts in growing a new fanbase.

I think they should keep BTE as it is and just copy/paste any important character developments segments from it, onto both the AEWs YouTube channel and on Dynamite.
That way you wouldnt have to tone down BTE altogether and at the same time give more context to certain storylines here and there when needed.

Was MJF a member for a few months? I mean, Page quit in kayfabe...but he’s still #Elite So, non-kayfabe, the Elite is Kenny & The Bucks (the OG’s)...Cody, Page & Marty. SCU, Nakazawa, MJF (before the turn on Cody) are more cast members of the YouTube show. Same for Orange Best Friends, The Librarians and Jurassic Express. Everyone else who appears on the show is just a cameo or there as part of an angle (see; Being The Inner Circle)

The Elite started as a sub-group in Bullet Club with Kenny and the Bucks. And then they split after a falling out between Kenny and the Bucks. But at Dominion 6.9, there was a reunion after the Bucks won the IWGP Tag Championships and Kenny won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. That was the beginning of the Golden Elite as Kota Ibushi was part of the GOLDEN LOVERS tag-team with Kenny.
Cody, Hangman, and Marty didn't officially join The Elite until they split off from Bullet Club. Like Ibushi, Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi were also associated with the Elite until the main members (except Marty who still had the rest of his contract to fulfill) left New Japan and ROH to start up AEW. I think you can think of Brandon Cutler and Dustin Rhodes as associate members in that they're friends and/or related to members of the stable, but aren't an official part of it.
