Wow, the champion entering the Royal Rumble at number 1, presumably defending it in the match!
I can't believe that's happening, such a unique, fresh idea.
Wait, what's that? Roman Reigns you say? 4 years ago?
You must be lying!
And there was only 1 title at the time, so if anything that was a bigger deal?
It can't be!

It sucks even more because I honestly don't think he's defending the title in the match.

What would be really more unprecedented for him is getting squashed in a match by someone not named "Goldberg".

So here's my question;
Where's management in all this?
I know, I know, there are no more GMs but you'd think someone would be like "Erm...no, you are going to defend your title and be nowhere near the Rumble".
Did Vince, in kayfabe, f*** up that much in drafting Brock's contract?

Did Vince, in kayfabe, f*** up that much in drafting Brock's contract? Honestly I think Heyman in kayfabe might be the one in charge. Maybe. Not that they really say but ever since he took on the position there's been a noticeable uptick in him just coming out and saying a given match is happening and that's what happens, like that battle royal Seth won before SummerSlam where everyone was rooting for pretty much everyone besides him. I dunno, this company's writing is a dumpster fire.

The two outcomes I see for this are: 1) Brock actually goes over the whole roster and wins the rumble and then WM is Brock vs. Fiend 2) They realized that they haven't built anyone up to challenge Brock at the Rumble so they will go the lazy route and whoever eliminates him gets the title match at Mania.
My money would be on option 2.

My money would be on option 2. I think it'll be the 2nd option too. There is absolutely nobody on Raw currently they can use as a credible challenger for Brock at the Rumble. Brock has destroyed everyone relentlessly for years and years bar Rollins who has just turned heel himself and so won't be the guy to face him. I've got no idea where they go from here for Mania, I hope they do.

Well... It is. Roman was forced into defending his title. While the conqueror, Brock, is doing it out of his own free will and generous heart. I dig it. The champion taking it upon himself to write his own destiny. Why should all these fools get a shot at the champ just because you outlasted 29 other guys? Brock is going to make sure you earn it this time. Personally, I cannot wait to see bodies being tossed out of the ring via german suplexes and f5s

He'll probably be eliminated by Gran Metalik with a Maven dropkick

Is the title on the line?
Because if not, then it's stupid and everyone who wrote this should be mocked so viciously that they never recover from it.

Why is this so nonsensical? I didn’t watch RAW but I watched some clips. So whoever eliminates Brock is the champion? Or whoever wins the Rumble is the champion?
There’s two titles so is this not for the title at Mania now?

He just wants an early night. Men's rumble goes first and he falls out of the ring as number 2 gets into the ring. Easy pay day.

Watch Brock win and then get the OTHER belt at Mania, so he can f*** off for 6 months with BOTH show's titles.

They pointed out that Brock is doing this willingly.
Roman was forced into it.
That's why it's unprecedented

Currently, Brock's participation in the Rumble means that the WWE title is _not_ on the line at the Rumble.
This, of course, is all subject to change and, as one last hurrah for Vince and/or the McMahons before Vince moves his focus to the XFL, I can see the match itself being announced, ultimately, as a WWE title defense. This will do two things - one, as I may have stated before, it can be an out for Lesnar to drop the belt to free him up for a match with Velasquez (or some other celebrity athlete for whom a WWE title run would be inappropriate or unwanted), and two, it will fill a huge creative vacuum on Raw caused by the absence of its champion.
On a broader level, this could also be a concessionary bone thrown by Vince to try to prevent more talents, whose contracts are coming up for renewal, from jumping ship. Returning to the Lesnar/celebrity well time after time is deeply hurting WWE stateside and, well, I'm not sure how soon Saudi Arabia wants another high-profile WWE show given current events.
