I saw this today and I honestly couldn't believe it. This dude is arguably the greatest wrestler of all time and he is still in his early 30s. Dude has almost never been injured and keeps getting better every year. The fact that we could have another 5-8 years of prime Okada is mind boggling with the career he's already had.

Yea, this was somewhat talked about in the WK thread and he only just turned 32 a few months ago
SANADA is only going to turn 32 at the end of this month and Jay White became IWGP champ at age 26 which shows you why they believe in him so hard as the biggest prospect since Okada.

The thing is, he feels kind of overexposed. And I know that's me being a shitty western person used to WWE tropes unfairly (possibly racistly by 2020 standards) forcing them upon him...

It really is crazy, where does Okada go from here? I guess he just keeps having amazing matches. SANADA is the same age, but to me he really only got to a tip top level worker since his first title match with Okada at New Beginning in '18, where Okada has been there for quite a while. Now White is another one, who is already very good. He doesn't have Sanada and Okada's athleticism, but his in ring psychology is ridiculous at his age. Even great workers like Bret Hart and Tanahashi didn't get to his level until their late 30s.

You're not wrong but he's in that position because he is the best In al honesty, 2019 was the first time since like 2016 where you felt that Okada didn't need the title but they put it on him anyway I do expect him to take a somewhat extended break from the title which will be the first time he has done so since he had his "established" close to year long run in 2013

He didn't have to stay "Broken", it just would have been nice to see him stay a hang-loose free spirit for a while longer.

Even great workers like Bret Hart and Tanahashi didn't get to his level until their late 30s. SANADA is just now hitting his prime in a way Okada has been for a while so SANADA still has a lot of tread on his tires and goodwill as well in chances Okada as I said I think he takes his first extended break from the title for the first time in over 5 years. He will get title shots but I think we are about to hit a year or year in a half stretch where we see White get another title reign and Ibushi get a title reign. Okada can easily slide to IC title and have a good run there in some different matchups White in ring level is years above his actual age. Compare his match with Tanahashi at WK 12 in 2018 to now and it is outstanding. This is only his 3rd full year in NJPW and he's wrestling like a guy who has been there 10 years and he's only getting better and has places to improve. His wrestling style will have him wrestling until he is 40 or more if he wants

Well he had to go back to "Classic Okada" in his feud with Jay White He spent the whole summer being wacky but the return to the blond hair and classic trunks got him probably his biggest babyface reaction in a long while against Jay White last year

Well he started at 15 with ultimo dragon. And was scooped by Rocky Romero.
Okada's 2016-2017 title run solidified his goat status.
Seriously he can retire and do acting/modeling tonight and have a career most people could never have
White is the best heel in wrestling getting those reactions
Sanada, Evil, and Shingo also have time.
Shingo is the best mic performer in new japan.
Seriously promo ability and aura take you to the main event no matter where you work. I can see shingo hitting main event by this year

As far as time though, he isn't exactly young, but I think he will do quite a bit in New Japan over the next few years. I agree his charisma, presence, promo ability and a damn good worker too should get him to the upper echelon of New Japan before he winds down.

I honestly love the shift to younger guys
NJPW has done it better than wwe over the decade how many stars has njpw made or used better
I mean look if Moxley was serious about loving the vibe in njpw more. He is also only 32. A main eventer. And one of the best going.
My god i want Okada vs Moxley
I want okada to keep being himself. His style is so much better in these 35 minute matches
I want to see okada with 15 to 20 minutes
Dude kills it
Rainmaker is one of the best there ever will be

Boating Okada who was friends with Chuck Taylor and Trent was my favourite Okada.

Already a Hall of Fame career No doubt. I think it's him and Flair at the top easily for lengthy runs of great matches. I felt so lucky to see him in a singles match at All In. There really is a special aura about him live.

Everyone else has to wait until their bodies are broken and past their prime to get their first title run but Okada had like 7 during his prime.

The only thing Gedo has really done to "slow down" Okada was when he put the title on AJ when he came in Tho keep in mind, Okada was on a year long run at that point so in a sense that wasn't even a stopped push but he kept the title off of him for two years which did help fuel the feud between him and Tana If not for how hot Naito got in 2016 and had that measly 70 day run, Okada would have been champ for nearly 4 f***ing years straight
