Nothing's going to change until employees are able to unionize to demand better treatment. There's also going to need to be some systemic changes in the way people approach game development as a prospective career. Simply put, a lot of people getting into game development are passionate about video games and have a higher threshold for abuse because it's their "dream job," while also being in an incredibly competitive field. If only I could think of another profession that's exactly like this.

Though not quite to the same degree and in different ways.

Guessing the game is now going to be crushed saleswise by the Avengers and NBA 2K21 The overlap between people excited for this and the new NBA game is likely infinitesimal.

And honestly, the excitement for NBA 2K21 is going to be tempered by how NBA 2K20 launched. I don't expect 2K to suddenly have 2K21 at 100% out of the gate, either.

Other franchises in EA & 2K have done the same.

My GM is 100% trash this year with whatever bullshit they pulled this year

Outside of MLB The Show, the yearly sports games are the single worst offenders for predatory monetary practices. NBA2k20 got so blatant about their gambling mechanics it that they have a f***ing in-game slot machine. But as long as people continue to buy them (and there are way too people who mindlessly buy the new Madden, FIFA, WWE2k, or NBA2k every year despite how bad they are), they won't stop these practices anytime soon.
And these games also tend to be among the most guilty for employee abuse like crunch because of the expectations of a yearly release. The interview with Yuke's about how burned out they were by WWE and Take Two's insane expectations should've been eye-opening and I imagine it's the same for other yearly sports franchises.

I have a feeling that Yakuza 7 Like A Dragon may come out before Cyberpunk, we also don't know what other games will be out in September

I have a bad feeling now that Cyberpunk will be out at the wrong time due to it being out the same month as NBA 2K21 (And it's Kobe Bryant Tribute cover)

Now delayed until November 19th. Dammit. On the good front though, they said the game is pretty much done, they just want to do the typical ironing out bugs and what have you due to the scope of the game.
So this should be it in terms of delay.

Honestly these days, it's a better sign when devs delay to iron out bugs. It sucks to wait longer, but the end product will be better because of it.
Also, I know now what I'm getting myself for my birthday.

I guess it now comes out the same month as the XIII Remake (And quite possibly Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War)

I'm guessing there will be some sort of make good offer to make up for the delay (Maybe even a remaster of the Witcher 2 to tide us over)

I'm guessing there will be some sort of make good offer to make up for the delay (Maybe even a remaster of the Witcher 2 to tide us over) That would be a huge undertaking. Just get the game right, I've build my new pc, got a fancy-smanchy monitor. I'm all ready. I'm perfectly prepared to wait.
