One year for Christmas my grandpa got me The Legend of Zelda. He followed it up the next year with...Karate Champ. "BEGIN!".

Lol when I was about 12 my younger cousins got a NES.But their mom bought them DK JR math and said she would only buy them educational games. Worst part was that there was one other educational game from that lineup but we'd never get it since it was a Popeye game that taught Japanese children English. Popeye is not who I'd choose for the job

For me, it was this shit. I was a huge Addams Family fan as a kid and was over the moon when I got this game. That changed after playing it for roughly 10 minutes.

It's easily the best wrestling game on the NES. Have you played Tag Team Wrestling? WWF WrestleMania? WWF Wrestlemania Challenge, even with the isometric view of the ring, was actually pretty enjoyable. I asked for WM Challenge for Christmas, got Wrestlemania. It was...not as good.

I was so excited for Wrestlemania and couldn't wait to play it. And well it was awful. Also Tag Team Wrestling was wretched. You had to select from a list of moves and I always struggled to select some of them.

I loved WrestleMania as a kid. Played it as an adult... yeah. It's rough. The WCW game where you can beat people with wrenches, however, was awesome.

I was really hoping for a 16-bit home port of WWF WrestleFest (or at least WWF Superstars). That.....never happened. I had some fun with the Acclaim SNES titles, but they all paled in comparison.

Snake, Rattle and Roll was one my parents got us randomly that was a huge “what the f***”, but we ended up loving it
I say a disappointing one was Battletoads. We got that another Christmas and the first two levels were awesome, then the third level with the bike section

I would so much rather play that than Battletoads any day of the week.

We got that another Christmas and the first two levels were awesome, then the third level with the bike section Honestly, Battletoads is all around awesome, though they really needed two options. 1) The option to turn on immunity to your teammate's attacks (which actually was a fun aspect when playing with siblings). 2) The option to back out of a grapple combo. Nothing is more frustrating than accidentally grabbing your nearly dead teammate for an attack combo, try to stop the attack, and be forced to finish the combo to kill off your partner because once the attack was started it must be finished.

Some of Bandai's early NES stuff like Chubby Cherub and Dragon Power (The later of which was a re skinned Dragon Ball game) were just putrid.

I think we ended up pulling an Angry Video Game Nerd and just danced the the pause music

Lol when I was about 12 my younger cousins got a NES.But their mom bought them DK JR math and said she would only buy them educational games. So, basically that and the Sesame Street games (I suppose you could claim Destiny of an Emperor and Nobunga's Ambition count too)? They had DK JR Math,Anticpation and Burger TIme from their parents. They got Burger Time cause their Dad loved that game. So every year for Xmas and their birthdays my Mom and I would get them a game. Worked to my advantage cause when the younger of the two hit 15 and was saving up to get his first car he sold me the NES and all the games for 50 bucks. Got a in great shape NES model 1,about 4 controllers and 15 games. Was how I discovered the game Monster Party.

What are you talking about that's an Arcade classic When you have the two joysticks and are use to how it plays Karate Champ is a decent game. It is one I use to play often at a local bowling alley. But on the NES it is just bad.

I think that this was one of the first examples that set the standard that movie tie-in games would suck. There are a lot of exceptions out there, but for the most part, they were not good.

Home Alone 2. At least I think this was for NES. I remember renting from Blockbuster and thinking man this is going to be so cool, I'll be setting traps and fooling the wet bandits and screwing with people in that hotel. And maybe I'll even get to punch Buzz or something. Instead I got...whatever that was. That was the first game I ever reacted to on a critical level and realized it was a *bad* game, and not just me that sucked at it.
