Poor Beth had to run the marathon because Santina was coming out late. Yyyyup. Once I realized they kept her in there for an absolute nothing moment, followed by a lame attempt at comedy, and a self-elimination I felt really bad for her. But much respect to her for persevering.

Whenever retired wrestlers return there’s usually a rush of comments saying they look great, they’re as good as before they left, and generally that’s being kind to said wrestler. But in Beth’s case she literally looks as good as when she left. She hasn’t missed a beat, and it’s incredibly impressive. It helps that she’s still in her 30’s (just) but you’d give someone a little leeway when they’ve been gone a while and only returning for a few matches, but every time she shows up she is at her best.
I was happy to see her get to the final three, and I hope she gets in the ring more often. I’d love to get her in singles matches with all different kinds of opponents (Asuka, Sasha, Charlotte, Naomi) and see what they can cook up.
By the end of that match her head injury looked real bad; the blonde hair made it look worse. She came off like a frickin badass. It’s great to see that they were evaluating her and making sure she was ok; such a change from the days when Mike Chioda told Beth to drag a knocked out Candice Michelle to cover her.
