There have been many worse Rumbles.
There have been so many Rumbles that I always appreciate a change from the standard.

Speaking only for myself, I did enjoy seeing Riddle look like an absolute chump.

For me the rumble was up there with 2015 and 1999 for worst for the 1st half. I really enjoyed the second half of the rumble. Really a tale of 2 rumbles for me.

I like that they used the Rumble to get Drew over... and honestly the Rumble did more to get him over than anything the WWE tried to do since he returned.
THat being said, the Brock portion went way too long and killed the crowd a lot. Also guys like Lee, Braun, MVP, and Riddle were all wasted.
Still some cool moments but I feel that there was a lot of missed opportunities

The first half was indescribable, indefensible garbage. Just the worst possible thing WWE could do, pumping up their part-time champion at the expense of the full-timers we see every Monday and Friday. But at least Brock Lesnar's elimination was done for the purpose of making a new star in Drew McIntyre, as opposed to using his elimination to promote a part-timer like Goldberg or Cain Velasquez. I just wish it could have been done around entrant no. 5 as opposed to entrant no. 16.
The middle was fine, from the entrance of AJ Styles at 18 to Matt Riddle at 22. Then it got weird, with random entrants, quick eliminations with no purpose, and ending with Seth Rollins and his faction pulling an Authority and eliminating fan favorites like trash.
It wasn't a good Rumble match. There's no two ways around it. They made a star in Drew McIntyre, Edge returned, but what else positive came from it? Who came out of it looking better than they did when they came in? What rivalries did it make or advance?

Also they've done Kofi SO DIRTY
I don't care if he's been regulated to taging because of Woods injury, this was his one time to get back at Brock because he's been and sounded like a giant loser since losing as pathetically as he did and he just... continued being a loser
It genuinely makes me upset and makes me wonder what the point of the world title win really was in the end for this to be the end result, it's just sad.

Absolutely loved the whole thing. The Brock sequence was hilarious and genuinely unique, Edge came back and had some great interactions with Orton; MVP appeared and to cap it off someone who grew up a few miles down the road from me is going to main event mania. Never thought I would see the day.
Loved it.

Speaking only for myself, I did enjoy seeing Riddle look like an absolute chump. I still want someone to just stomp on his feet for like ten minutes straight in a match, just to teach him some sense.

Outside of Rey, Lee, Kofi, Braun and Big E who all got more offense and you actually believe might take him out.
Did any of those guys he throw out really matter?
Better Drew than Cain.

I get that they were trying to get over whoever eventually eliminated Brock but oh boy did it make everyone else up till then look like the biggest chumps.
Edge returning was awesome but props to the production team for missing his first spear with a pointless crowd shot. Ridiculous.
Drew was the right choice to win.

WWE's got a huge problem where when they try for new stuff it's really just blindly not thinking about anything but "It's new". Formula works becaue the tropes backing them are solid and if you're creative with it and also don't blow through and overexpose every trick you have then you can stretch that material out. The Brock half of the match was a slog through the same thing happening over and over to diminishing returns and all the thigbns that tend to make a Rumble match interesting and good were just completely gone. Surprise return from MVP? He was chucked out. Shelton Benjamin's his old friend? It lasts long enough for Brock to catch a break then it's done before they can even team up on someone. People he had beef with in 2019 teaming up on him? The live thread had more interest and investment in the idea than the writing. On every narrative level the only thing it accomplished was "Shit we've spent so long sucking this guy off that we've run out of anything else to suck in, can we fit the sac in our mouth now?" and I'm just tired of it. It wouldn't be better with someone else, it'd be better if it wasn't what they did at all.
The bnack half I can't say, I checked out completely once Drew starting throwing people like Brock had.

Drew finally being made a star I really just see Drew as 100% talentless. He's tall and has nothing else going for him whatsoever. Not wanting to argue but 100% talentless? Come on now.

This was really a tale of two matches. In the first half, they made a bunch of their supposed stars look like total goobers. I think Keith Lee was the only one not made to look like total garbage in that first half. After that was over, the Rumble got down to what it needs to be in the first place, and I thoroughly enjoyed the second half. But as fun as the second half was, the first reallllly pulls it down in terms of overall quality.

It was well on its way to being the worst with all the Bork shit and not letting Keith Lee go to the final 4....Orton being there was such a ho hum thing.
It picked up once Bork got Borked but not enough to save it...even with the end result being an agreeable result.

I liked, especially when Edge got tossed. I was just waiting for them to go with the typical babyface happy return to win, him losing really got me to actually enjoy both parts of it. The Brock toss set up the WM setting up their match, other part making Drew looking great against the current roster.
Plus they set up Black joining Owens and Joe bit.

The women’s match was great with a bad winner. The men’s match was bad with a solid winner.

I'm not angry about Roman losing. I adore the guy but I wasn't going to be upset if he lost to someone who made sense. Drew makes sense and I also like Drew and am happy that he's finally getting a chance.
I'm angry about them finding a way to get Roman booed again.
I'm angrier that so many good talents got squandered.
I'm angrier still because it was Brock who did most of the squandering.
And what makes me angriest is the fact that WWE isn't going to learn a f***ing thing from this.
Triple H may be as ruthless as Vince when it comes to business but he'd be a f***ing hell of a lot better running the company.
I'm going to be upset for a while, sorry.

I was checked out after Rowan got the 10 second elimination. I knew where the hell this was going. My ears perked up when New Day and Rey got in there. Hey, maybe a compelling revenge angle and some continuity can save this thing. But no, they're dispatched in short order and I turn the whole thing off only checking Wikipedia every 10 minutes or so.
And of course, I miss the returns of MVP and Edge along the way.
It's OK that Drew won and all that, but what fan in the stands, or watching at home, is going to sit through 30 minutes of the same Brock M.O. for the last 7 years and be enthused about it whatsoever? It's dogshit booking and an insult to the fans' intelligence. And of course, in their incoherent booking, they managed to get the crowd to shit on Roman like he never left.
