If they do the fan streaming reactions thing they better just use WWE employees or you're gonna get some shots of people's dicks. WWE Official: "Now, remember a huge audience will be watch, so don't do anything you wouldn't want a worldwide audience to see." Random Fan: "Oh, there's a 100% chance I'mma show my dick." WWE Official: "Please don't. Hey, Vince. People are definitely going to show their dicks, like I told you." Vince McMahon: "I already decided we're doing this, so we're doing it no matter how many dicks make it on air!" Director: "OH NO VINCE THERE'S A PENIS ON THE SCREEN! I THOUGHT WE WARNED THESE GUYS NOT TOO DO ANYTH... *Turns around and sees Vince is naked with his webcam*

33 years ago tonight, I was a bored 5 year old watching WrestleMania III on Closed-Circuit TV. But then Steamboat VS Savage began. I was memorized by the athleticism of Ricky Steamboat & Randy Savage and I have been hooked ever since. Next week at this time, Night 1 of WrestleMania will be over, with another night to come. Forget about the show not having an audience, or matches being filmed in different locations, or matches being changed at the last minute, or the showing be taped a week ahead of time. For next week, I will be that 5 year old again, before I knew about the behind the scenes. I will be in awe at the amazing talented men & women competing in the ring. And I hope that somewhere around the world, there will be an innocent 5 year old boy or girl just like me watching WrestleMania on the WWE Network for $9.99 that will also be in awe that will cause them to be hooked and become a wrestling fan for life. So forget about what's going on behind the scenes and become the kid you were when you fell in love with wrestling.

I get where you're coming from, and it's nice that you can feel that way, but I just don't know if everyone can.
The crowd all cheering and booing along with the show contributes a lot, the atmosphere is important. It's like if you went to a wrestling show and the crowd were all just quietly checking their watches and sighing, you're just not gonna get that feeling of being involved, or part of a crowd, or that it's a big deal event that everybody absolutely had to be there for. It sucks, it's unfortunate, but I think it matters a whole lot.
I'm not sure I'd get into the current product anyway if I were teenage me again now, so I think that'd play a part too, it's not really like it was in the 80s or the late 90s. But I only make that point briefly as an aside, I think the more important part of my response it the crowd issue (because we've all been back and forth on whether the current product sucks or not).

forget about what's going on behind the scenes and become the kid you were when you fell in love with wrestling. No. I will not 'settle' for whatever this is going to be. Unless they go full hollywood/Lucha Underground and add music, different cinematography, piped in crowd chants etc, then this product is only ever going to be 'unique' in a morbidly embarrassing sense. Suspension of disbelief is impossible. If they're not going to make the effort to make Wrestlemania look and feel special, why should we treat them like they are? Also, trust me, I know from experience, most kids aren't all that innocent by 5.

I guess I'm in the minority then. I always say even if WrestleMania had a 3 hour Iron Man Match between The Boogeyman & Giant Gonzalez, I would still watch it because of the name alone. But, I guess I'm different than everyone else.

Iβm sure itβll look different than the weekly shows set-wise. And we know thereβs at least 2 βon-locationβ matches.

I think there's a balance for most people, where it has to have ratios within each viewer's personal tolerance (in no particular order) of:
Big time feel (because WrestleMania, this isn't "In Your House 153: Nobody Cares") Crowd that cares (making noises, responding to matches, confirming the "you gotta see this" feel)
Over the top presentation (sets, lighting, pyro, generally more effort put into making it look big to work alongside feeling big) Big name stars (because nobody's watching WrestleMania for 9 jobber squashes) Angles that need a big blowoff (because what's bigger than the end of a 9 month long blood feud between two huge killers?) Matches to showcase talent and variety (gotta keep people fresh and interested, mix it up a bit)
When I started writing this I thought I'd have a more concise list that'd sound tidier, but turns out I didn't. But I do think all those things are important, and for any given viewer if you get those ratios wrong or you miss a bunch of those aspects out, well, it's just not WrestleMania any more. The name WrestleMania means something on its own, sure, that helps a bit, but it also sets expectations that it's gonna be the one huge show of the year that's going to matter, it's going to be amazing, it's going to make you regret not watching because it's the guaranteed hot beat of the year.
If it can't live up to that, it's... well, it's not WrestleMania to me, it's the promise of a 5 course banquet cooked by a world class chef but being given a pack of Lunchables and booted back out the door.

My respect to those who can enjoy a wrestling show without fans and going to pay for WM. I just can not.
WWE should make them wwe shop VIP members

Another thing, if they gotta do the livestream fan thing can't they like broadcast them into some trons at ringside rather than turning wrestling into a Zoom meeting looking thing?

Wrestling without a crowd is going to be lame and cringe There's still a week for them to delay Wrestlemania, saving Team Challenge Mania for a down-the-road curiosity.

What's the news about Goldberg's opponent, did they film the 'Mania already? What's in place for tonight's RAW. I'm about week behind in 'rassling news, ' would like to hear a little summary.

Check the "People not at WM" thread, that should give you some details/spoilers. We're trying to keep this one spoiler-free.

So will this years lack of a real Mania kill their profits for the year? I mean they already only make like 20 million profit on hundreds of millions of revenue which means their operating costs are insane. So profit off Mania could be subsidizing money losing ventures elsewhere. And now with most of that profit gone what happens there?

Updated the OP to add the matches thus far and switch the earlier-announced matches to the newer graphic style.
With the whole thing pretaped anyway I really have no earthly idea why this is two nights.
