The first-ever WrestleMania in June! Combine WrestleMania & SummerSlam. Call it Summer Fest. Jeremy Piven can host.

It seems for all the world that this is when the pro leagues think they're going to be able to start up again, assuming this thing gets under control. I just can't imagine how they still think they're going to pull this off now that cities are beginning to shut down non-essential businesses and establishing curfews. Thatβs the funniest part to me, everywhere else has a max of 50-250 people in any spot and these maroons think theyβre going to pull in 80000 from around the world into one stadium despite a Europe travel ban. Tampa and the WWE look like some right assholes at the moment. Is it possible WWE is doing this for insurance purposes? Like, would they get money back if the city of Tampa pulls the plug on the show instead of canceling it on their own? Any insurance experts out there?

It's official. WrestleMania 36 will be emanating from the Performance Center, making it the lowest attended WrestleMania since WM 7 in Los Angeles in 1991, which only had 16,158 fans (not counting WM 2). It will be so weird to see. I guess they won't be doing the Andre or Women's Battle Royals since that 60 wrestlers in those 2 matches alone. We wrestling fans should be happy that it's still taking place no matter if it's in front of 70,000 or 0 fans. Let's support the men & women who bust their asses for our enjoyment. This is their livelihood. You fans will crap all over it any way, so you shouldn't care where it is.

seriously though. Really wish they would hold off until June/July. Empty Arena isn't Mania.

For the first time ever, thereβll be more people in the WrestleMania thread than at WrestleMania itself.

This just wont be wrestlemania at all. Half of the fun is the spectacle.
I dont understand why they cant postpone. If drew was booked to win his first title winning in front of an empty room isnt what he always dreamed of. What about the big entrances? Save em?

Plus side, without the gigantic ramp it will only take Undertaker 25 minutes to make it to the ring.

If the community bugs ya that much might be time for you to find a new one.

If they could delay it just a couple of months this could have been a real triumphant moment for them, and theyβd be one of if not the very first major sporting event to take place after things are more under control.
But a thunderingly awkward event in front of no fans that will live in perpetuity as a reminder of a bad time in many peopleβs lives is just as good.

Well this will be crap. I mean, it was probably already going to be crap, but at least it was going to be spectacular crap.
Idiots.

A tough decision, but I think the only one they could realistically do. Itβs be grossly irresponsible to have a crowd in these circumstances, and wrestling is a narrative form unlike sports or concerts so simply postponing Mania would have had a lot of flow-on effects on their storylines. Itβs going to be an interesting test of how to have compelling matches without crowd response.

Knowing their exaggeration of attendance figures, Iβm expecting them to tell us thereβs 1000 people there.
