Here's how I see it McNabb: above average QB, worthy of being NFL starter Young: OK rookie season, time will tell if he's the real deal Vick: horrible horrible horrible. Takes way too many sacks, innaccurate arm, fumbles too much, is a liability due to his tendency to run too much. also has problems off the field Brooks: Belongs in NFL Europe or the Arena league Leftwich: Below average starter McNair: Past his prime. No longer starting material. could be useful in backup role Culpepper: absolutely abysmal. Holds on the to the ball way too long, doesn't make very good decisions Garrard: a more moblie version of Leftwich but thats about all JaMarcus Russell is Daunte Culpepper part deux. Makes questionable decisions on the field and has character issues off the field. That is why I dont want him on my team, and would prefer to pick up Carr and go after a game breaking reciever like Johnson I disagree about Vick. As a Panther fan I watch him play twice a year..and usually run right the f*** over what is usually a decent defense.. He isn't as good as his hype..but he is still a damn good quarterback.

Vick and McNair are good..they just didn't (or couldn't) live up to their hype. How has McNair not lived up to the hype? He is still a top ten QB, one of the most durable QB's in a long time, led Tennessee to the layoffs several times, to the Super Bowl once and, is a former MVP.

Why should the mediocre black QBs be held to any different standard than the dozens of mediocre white ones?

Warren Moon hold any meaning for ya? I don't see JaMarcus Russell as the next Warren Moon. If anything he's the next Daunte Culpepper and believe me, thats NOT a good thing

I was talking more about Vick..and I was only defending McNair against people who obviously think he is overhyped. I personally have always liked him..found him to be a good quarterback.

Millen's the football version of Johnny Ace. He keeps his job no matter how bad he is at it.

No I'm not saying anyone's the next Warren Moon, I'm just saying Moon was a kickass black qb.

I have seen him literally take over ballgames, and I have seen him suffer. I'd still take him in Carolina in a heartbeat.

Why should the mediocre black QBs be held to any different standard than the dozens of mediocre white ones? because they're allotted chance after chance where as mediocre white QB's like Joey Harrington are jettisoned. The fact that Daunte Culpepper is still with Miami while Harrington (despite being outplaying C-Pep) is banished to Siberia, speaks volumes on the stranglehold the PC police has over the NFL

Cunningham was also a damn good QB and really was able to evolve to play much latter than anyone could have imagined. Don't forget HOFer Warren Moon. Cunningham gets into the Hall in the next Class I hope. That's a big miss for me. I'm an Eagles fan, so i instantly think Cunningham, and since i really wasn't thinking it through i forgot Moon. Moon definitely deserves to be up there as well. As for Vick, it's becoming clear that he's pretty overrated as a QB. Sure he can make plays and occasionally has great days, but he's inconsistent and sometimes looks awful. And I'm shocked you like VY so much. He's going to turn out just the same as Vick once AFC teams adjust to him. Vick looked like the second coming of QBs when he started as well, and now he's pretty much done for. VY will meet the same fate.

I don't see Culpeper being in Miami too much longer either. But that's more cuz I don't see him recovering from injury to the level he once was.
And in fairness, I think Harrington's performance in Detroit those years hadda lend a bit of weight to a decision. Daunte has had at least had really good years. Harrington had one semi ok one.

Hell how many times did Jeff George get a look as a mediocre qb, or Jake Plummer, or Gus Frerotte..
