Pure Title is back... yay? Yeah, as someone who started really following ROH after the title was retired I am not quite sold on this. I know it has different rules that came into play but this just feels like another belt just to make things a bit easier. Maybe without the six man or the TV titles I’d be more excited.

Just feels like another belt in the fray

As a golden age ROH fan I loved the Pure title, but it does feel like a bit much in a company with as many belts as it has now.
That said, given some of the talent they've got right now there's some really good matches that can come from this, so still a nice thing on the whole. I'd consider using this as a chance to reorder how they use the TV title, since that's meant to be defended, y'know, on TV, instead of acting as the company's de facto midcard/upper midcard title.

It wasn’t really exciting the first time around. Felt like adding extra rules for the sake of adding rules. Might as well add rounds and make it like the AWF... They aren’t doing much with the belts they do have. Adding another one just seems pointless. The only company I feel needs another title is AEW. So it can give The mid card guys more of something to do.

Jonathan Gresham should be the first holder when it returns...and dominate the division.

Seriously, I’d think of taking the idea of the making it an Internet title and running with that. Hell, just about every show is on Honor Club so that would make more sense, imo. Hell just call it the Honor Club Champ so you’d be almost guaranteed of seeing a title match and who knows, maybe a new champ.

Pure Title is back... yay? Yep this was it. Although it would have made more sense to sync their social media accounts to post at 6:30 PM since it looks kind of goofy to specifically say a time then leave fans hanging. As for the Pure Title, as good as some of the matches involving it were at the end of the day a title is just a title. It could end up being great if booked right, but I guess that is up to Mr. Scurll.

Good deal for Gresham, perhaps.
I was never super into the Pure title idea, but, it might help with the problem of the company lacking a clear identity that sets it apart in a post-AEW and NXT world. That has been a common criticism of ROH, and if this helps things feel a bit more unique, that's probably a decent step in the right direction.

Kinda pointless to be honest. They don't even have the roster for the titles they have

With the PURE Title coming back, I hope it brings in some UWFI styled matches. Im a massive mark for that

It really should be something, at least: set a regular schedule for TV title defenses to be shown in their entirety on your weekly TV show, otherwise consider changing its format or name. I know it's a nerdy thing to get caught up in, but I do get a bit bugged when companies have midcard belts with particular names or original purposes that just get deployed as generic titles, instead, so it'd be nice, ala how the NWA is having its 6:05 TV title matches.

There’s a lot of guys out there who can have great matches for the Pure Title. I dig it. I imagine this is Gresham or Marty’s baby.

Thinking over the rules, there's one major gimmick from the original Pure title that I don't think would apply anymore: the 20 count on the floor, compared with regular ROH matches back then simply not having countouts. Nigel McGuinness made a great gimmick of taking advantage of the 20 count, but I'm pretty sure they do regular countouts now.
Then again, I'm reading some of this stemmed from a Will Ospreay tweet where he said "wouldn't it be cool if they brought it back with updated rules?", so I'm sure some things will be different.

Hm. The Pure title never quite felt like it was what it should have been outside of McGuinness's reign and maybe the match where Joe won the title. The rules felt like a test run for changing ROH's rules across the board, in that they were rarely relevant and seemed designed to emphasize technical wrestling without being intrusive. Of course, that never happened, so the title ended up only really existing for a few angles that required a different belt and a unification match.
So - if there's an actual plan, could be good. Otherwise, eh, not even hitting my nostalgia buttons very hard.

Seriously, it is something I have wanted, but I'm worried it is a stunt to try and get back many of the older fans ROH has turned away over the years. I'll wait to see how things play out, and agree that Gresham would make a great champion to build the division around. I am worried that ROH's roster is too small to add a 3rd singles belt.

The Pure Title was fine, but it also had a definite shelf life. A lot of those matches tended to fall into the same trappings. I'd hope they're changing up the rules to get past that.

I usually think that adding belts are an excuse for lazy bookers, but the Pure title makes a lot of sense if ROH wants to rebrand itself as a true alternative. Adjust the rules to make it more Bloodsport-esque and we've got ourselves something that no one else has on a national level.

"We have a lot of problems right now. What should we do to fix this mess?" "Bring back an old championship! That will solve everything!" "Brilliant, Jenkins! ROH will shoot into the stratosphere with this move! Let's celebrate with this great big bucket of pretzel sticks!"

Yeah, there's definetly an audience for that sort of psuedo-MMA Bloodsport style and ROH could benefit from trying to appeal to those more niche sections of the fandom and actually becoming an alternative to the majors instead of being NXT-lite.
