Hamilton, going 50+ laps on intermediate tyres, wins it to claim his 7th world title, from Perez and Vettel, who pinches a rare podium for this season from Leclerc after he locked up in the last section of corners trying to hold off Perez.

Bahrain GP stopped on lap 1 because Grosjean's car turned into a complete fireball.
Thankfully he seems OK

Grosjean is lucky to walk away from that one He REALLY is. The car split in half and he’s gone THROUGH the f***in’ wall. That could’ve been really bad. Francois Cevert bad.

It's a great example of how good the safety is on modern F1 cars that he even survived that.
Commentators on UK feed painting out that the halo and half the car is buried in the barricade

Commentators on UK feed painting out that the halo and half the car is buried in the barricade Oh, dude’s a goner without a halo. I mentioned the name Francois Cevert, also look up the name Helmuth Koinigg... Two drivers in the 1970s killed instantly when their cars broke through the lower part of armco barriers and they took the higher parts of those barriers right to the head with speed and force.

Not sure about concrete barriers going in place

Barriers being replaced by the concrete block barriers borrowed from the service road because putting the metal ones back in would take too long.
I bet there's gonna be an immediate debate about which barriers to put in there for next week too

I'm looking at the completely intact Halo in that wreckage and wondering how many previous fatal head blows would turn into survivable incidents

Cevert, Koinigg, Jules Bianchi, Justin Wilson in IndyCar a few years back... and probably Ayrton Senna. Felipe Massa doesn’t have that one massive accident that time either.

Just tuning in now and seeing a replay. If I had been watching live I would have been convinced I had just watched somebody die.
