That time of the year again time for a new SAW movie Except this is suppose to be a spinoff so that atleast intrigues me as to where the story is going and Chris Rock in a serious role has me interested as well.

I loved the original Saw series, but by the last one, it had gotten fairly ridiculous. Hopefully, Chris Rock and crew can capture the spirit of the first couple.

That trailer didn’t give an awful lot away so I am intrigued. Samuel L Jackson in a Saw movie is reason enough to be hyped.

I groaned at the idea of another Saw movie.
Then finding out Sam Jackson and Chris Rock will be in it made me confused, yet interested.

Hmmm, I've always enjoyed the Saw series. Have to say that I am really loving the tone of this film. I'll definitely check it out.

I'll pass on the movie itself, not my thing, but I'm half in love with that poster already. It's the color contrast, mostly.

I'm interested and will probably give it a watch as opposed to outright ignoring the last few movies that came out

I was hoping we'd see Chris in one of those reverse bear traps. Like so:

So a few interesting things is that Darren Lynn Bousman is back directing a Saw movie...the last time he directed a Saw movie was Saw 4 so this may have a tone similar to the early movies in the series which is nothing but a good thing.
And then there is beginning to figure out just where this is going to fit into the series timeline
Well that seems to line up with this being a spinoff...it is not a sequel but it is within the same timeline.
Too bad there would need to hoops within hoops that would likely make no sense to make it happen but would love if this could be used to bring back Amanda because killing her when they did was a HUGE mistake.

"FROM THE BOOK OF SAW" makes me want to murder everybody in the world, so I guess the poster is succeeding at that, at least.

I've only actually seen the first of these movies. Thought it was okay right up until the ending which is so stupid it basically killed my interest in the entire franchise, and from everything I know it just got dumber from there.

It’s funny .. every time the franchise does “this character is Jigsaw’s successor ” at the conclusion to I think at least three of the sequels.. the next film is like “f*** it, let’s just keep going with John Kramer doing it from beyond the grave”
And I won’t be surprised if they do that again.

I'm finding this new trend of comedy associated people being the creative forces behind the horror genre very amusing (in a good way). First Jordan Peele, then Danny Mcbride, now Chris Rock. I forgot that he was confirmed as being involved in a new SAW a few years ago.
Also, this poster is way better than it has any right to be. It's like the 10th movie in a horror franchise that the general audience stopped caring about ages ago...didn't expect such an interesting arthouse approach to this film, that is also starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson. Two guys not exactly known for subtley lol.
Although, there might be a nice dark comedy edge to it with Chris in charge. Either way, I'm intrigued about a SAW movie in 2020, something I'd never thought would happen since like the 2nd or 3rd one.

SAW lost me during movie 3, which also seems to be the general public consensus. Like, it may not be the most original idea, but it worked at the time. It's jut not really clear why this series exists anymore considering the franchise player has been dead for the past 10 or so movies. It just seems like they're trying to run a gambit of how many times they can tell the same apprentice story line before the well runs dry.

Has Chris Rock ever done more serious roles? I swear, I've only ever seen him in comedies. I'm kind of intrigued, even if this franchise has been milked to death at this point.
