I feel like there should be a Green, Yellow, and Red system
Sites that are very reliable with very few mistakes should be in the Green
Sites that have gotten stuff right before but can report BS and get shit wrong more on the regular in the Yellow, not necessarily worth banning but being cautious
And the Red the sites not allowed on FAN at all because they have a horrible reputation and rarely if ever are actually correct on anything

Two for that green list: 411mania which pretty sticks to facts and news (and the rare bit of NEWZ they report is basically sourced from Meltz or someone), and Slam Wrestling, who have a top class spot for wrestling obits and interviews going back 20 odd years.
I think Rajah is permanently on the red list, which still saddens me. 20 years ago (I feel old) it was one of the premier news sites on the web, chiefly for the main teams analysis and predictions which tended to be quite accurate. (Anyone remember Kayfabe Pete? His PPV previews were quite insightful.) The original lot all got bored or busy and then Daniel Pena took over...

Where's the line drawn? If Shepherd, Sportskeeda or anyone else on the blacklist report something verifiable such as "Stone Cold says his best match wasn't against Bret Hart", and said article links to a podcast excerpt where Stone Cold said exactly that, is it wrong to link? These sites are quite happy to spin things for more clicks. Example: "Austin says his best match wasn't against Bret Hart" can easily be spun into "Austin slates his WM13 match against Bret Hart." A safer way to avoid that is if one of these sites links to a verifiable source, just skip their part and post the source itself. Plus if they're posting the source, there's certainly going to be more reputable sites also reporting it.

Would it be easier to make a "green list" of sources that are okay to use as the basis for new threads? There's a hell of a lot more BS out there than actual reporting Fightful/Sean Ross Sapp PWInsider PWTorch Ryan Satin (probably more so, since he’s on FS1) Casey from Squared Circle Sirens

411Mania is usually safe because I don't think they do any real original reporting outside of reviews for shows. Everything else is usually sourced from usually reliable places like WO, F4W, PWI, or PWT.

John Pollock (runs Post Wrestling) doesn't break much of anything but he's as reliable as they come.

Just wanted to lob onto the pile Pro Sports Extra, a site that Brad Shepard became manager of a few hours after this thread went up, which is currently slinging hiring rumours that Ringside News et al are rereporting. It's a new leg of The Cycle Of That Bullshit.

It was honestly the first newz site I read regularly, before discovering 1wrestling

When the WWF changed to WWE, Rajah got several Q&A posts asking if the name of the site was going to change to Rajahwwe.com. His reply: "After years of that hassle you've got to be kidding!"

The only ones that should be allowed are the Observer, Torch, Insider, Figure 4 Weekly and Ryan Satin. All the rest are either like 411mania, Wrestleview, Wrestlezone, Slamwrestling (and last I checked Rajah too) that just source the likes of Meltzer, Keller, Alvarez, Johnson and Satin and write opinion pieces but don't break news or they are sites that just make up bullshit.

And Brad Sheppard's career is over. If I'm WWE, I sue him. This is really something that should not be made up like this.

Like, has WWE ever come out and said "f*** this guy in particular" before? They haven't even done that with Metlz directly and they're super at odds with eachother right now.

This is why I LOVE THAT POST. Yes, I've been guilty of posting this Sheppard character, but I really couldn't tell if he was legit. This is a complete warning that anyone who uses this guy as a source, it's BS. At least this one will NEVER be debated again!
