Riddle has gained a lot of size since his UFC days, he’d probably be a light heavyweight now if not the lower end of heavyweight. Brock is still stronger, but Riddle has a better overall ground game. Riddle has better technique in probably every area besides straight up wrestling, so it would definitely be interesting to watch.

If Riddle could make it so Brock couldn't get a hold oh him I think Riddle might have a chance, but second Brock gets ahold of him it's game over.

I'll say this much: shooting on your opponent, barring an extreme circumstance like Sting vs Jeff Hardy, is very stupid. But neither one of them could comfortably shoot on the other one without the potential for one of both of them being made out to be a dumb asshole.

MMA fight? Brock wins there’s a reason there are weight classes. Brock is also an NCAA champion while Riddle just excelled at high school level.

As much as I love Riddle, and I do think he wouldn't just get rolled... There's a reason professional fighting has weight divisions.

Everyone's overestimating size when all Riddle has to do is put him in a submission. Once he does Brock taps a hunred times in a row and agrees to wear a shirt that says "I'm a big loser and Matt Riddle's chew toy" just so he lets go of the hold.

I'd put money on Riddle. The only thing Brock has on him is size, but for me that's not enough. I've seen Brock fight, and I've seen Riddle fight. Brock can't take a strike without going into panic mode, Riddle tends to stay cool. Have you ever seen Shane Carwin? I have. I'm 6'2" 250. His hand was bigger than my face. He looked like the someone drawing the incredible hulk from memory. I saw him knock out a fighter with one hand duct taped to his chest. Weirdly, people react poorly to being punched by this man*. Brock weathered the storm against this Final Fantasy boss and came back to win. Matt hasn't faced anything close to comparison, losing to welterweight legends of the sport Lance Benoist and Sean Pierson. You can't compare apples and elephants. |
