I know people will think it’s dumb to get this happy about sports or whatever but this means so much to me. This was everything I needed. I had a pretty rough year but the Dodgers mean so much to me.

So, is Kevin Cash getting fired, or what?
I doubt he will, considering the Rays organization, but that was definitely a bonehead play and once more living proof why sabermetrics is garbage.

I don't get the degree of sabermetrics bashing. It's like people think it's the devil's lettuce of baseball or something. There's plenty of advanced stats that point to leaving Snell in. HH%, LD%, SIERRA, etc. Cash just made a shit decision based on what he says wasn't a hard set of parameters to take him out when it quite clearly was. Dusty was never an analytics guy and he routinely made shit decisions about when to pull starters, and it's not a damning argument against managing without analytics. It just means Dusty is kind of a moron.

Sabermetrics is just so oblivious to the here and now of baseball. If you got a hot hand, why not run with the hot hand instead of doing what the computer tells you to do?

Rays don’t make the playoffs without sabermetrics. That they got to game 6 of the WS is testament to their plan. The issue is analytics as a guideline is great in the regular season but in the playoffs you have to adapt to a game to game mentality, and so numbers don’t really match up with what you need to do on the fly. That’s where Cash f***ed up, but I wouldn’t condemn analytics as a whole because of it. Omg Dodgers are WS champs it’s just hitting me yesss

As a Red Sox fan, I will always pull for Dave Roberts. Glad he finally won it all as a manager. I wonder how Red Sox fans feel about Mookie Betts getting a WS ring after Sox management screwed around with him. Sox fans have turned hard on this team. The level of interest in the team is late 80s levels of “meh”. Ownership is hated and with good reason.

Sabermetrics is just so oblivious to the here and now of baseball. If you got a hot hand, why not run with the hot hand instead of doing what the computer tells you to do? I'm not defending the decision at all. But to use one shit decision as an argument against all of advanced analytics, it's an overreaction. Just as the way Dusty has managed his arms not taking pitch count or innings limits into account is one extreme, Cash is the other end of the spectrum. Neither proves that one approach is completely wrong or right, it just proves that those guys are kind of dumb and made huge mistakes that cost franchises a lot. Cash took one stat and extrapolated it to mean that Snell shouldn't go through the line-up 3 times no matter what he did, which is a taking one metric and giving it too much control of the game. That's his gaffe, not his use of analytics. Snell's advanced stats shit all over Anderson's this postseason, especially for right handed batters. Cash just blew it. It's an indictment on him, not on sabermetrics as a failure being an absolute.

I think Seager’s numbers just won out. He put up monster stats. Betts made all the star plays but just didn’t show up in the boxscore I guess.

But Seager had a better postseason as a whole, so it's pretty fair to make him MVP.

Boras is gonna get him paid for sure. I think the Dodgers have to pony up tho. Man I had so much shit talk planned for the day we won and...I just can’t. I’m too happy. We did it and I’m just so happy for it, can’t even knock anyone.

I don't care why he did it, whether it was an analytics thing or a gut feeling....taking Snell out at that point was astronomically stupid.
As a Nationals fan, I would've been fuming if they pulled Stras early in Game 6 last year.

Hell, Nationals fans should remember just a few years earlier Matt Williams taking out Zimmerman. 18 innings later Brandon Belt happens.

Nah, you're fine. I was like that last year. Enjoy it.... Although the parade may not happen in two weeks because people failed to do their job.

They have to suspend him. To Turner it might have been worth it and deep down a part of me can’t blame him for what he did, but don’t f*** with the virus dude.
