The Astros are gonna be holding a press conference on Thursday at 9:30 am Eastern Time. The owner, Dusty Baker, and players will be there. This is gonna be a shitshow. So who's gonna choke first/worse in Houston: Dusty Baker or Bill O'Brien? Baker, in spite of his geriatric ways of managing with medicine balls and nerve tonic, likely won't come close to "failing upwards" himself Bill.

What did people expect them to say? How about admitting to cheating, showing some remorse, not trying to blame people who are no longer there, not hiding behind the report (and the report even said that it was the players that started it), and admitting that it gave them an edge. The Astros organization is way too up its own ass to do any of that.

That's going to be an entire season's worth of festering resentment.

With Gerrit Cole just smartly keeping his mouth shut and not saying anything

seems like MLB has the shortest offseason. Feels like the Nats won the world series yesterday. Maybe because I'm a teacher and there's is two seasons that go on within one school year. i feel the opposite, i feel they have the longest one That's just because of winter, in my opinion.

Alex Verdugo will already miss the start of the season for Boston. Yikes. Remember the classic Simpson's episode Lisa the Vegetarian where Lisa steals a pig Homer was planning to roast: If the pig was my enthusiasm for Verdugo it would be airborne right now.

And even though it's an early week series, I'm eying good attendance for that shitstorm.

Really makes you wish for that hockey team, because the Dynamo will not come close to playoff contention in MLS for the foreseeable future because that costs too much money to ownership.

Sure worked out for the Marlins. He’s super rich but he’s not a billionaire. Surely he can’t do this by himself. But even though his legacy is with the Yankees, A-Rod has been known to love the mets. I’m intrigued

Jeremy Hellickson has retired. Didn't live up to his potential but had a longer career then I thought he would.

I’m intrigued Yeah, he grew up a huge Mets fan. And yeah he'd have to be part of an ownership group like Magic Johnson with the Dodgers or Derek Jeter with the Marlins. And unlike Jeter, A-Rod is a massive baseball nerd who loves every opportunity to absorb the game when he can.
I also think Jeter gets a lot of unfair blame put at his feet because he's the public face of the Marlins, but he isn't the money. That'd be a guy named Bruce Sherman. Hell, you can still put a lot of the Marlins' woes on how Loria ran that franchise into the ground.
