"I don't want to quit on the season, but the players made me do it. They made me do it!" Shit show might be an improvement over how MLB has operated this season.

He says he doesn't want to quit but if more games keep getting called off, what can he do? Blame the owners? That'll be the day.

And an already shitty season for the Red Sox gets worse as their best pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, is out for the year with heart problems due to Covid 19. Hoping for a full recovery in 2021.
Sigh, just get to September 1st. Just get to September 1st.

It is embarrassing how bad MLB has been at this. Even the NFL thus far is not having this much trouble I said on an NFL i post on something g like this... Using the MLB as reason for why the NFL season won't work is apple and oranges mainly due to how negotiations have gone. With baseball the entire negotiations centered around money and games. There was very little concern on either side in regards to health protocol. The NFL players pushed hard for precautions (which with how poor their players union has been at times is somewhat surprising) and they got a fairly good situation. MLB didn't have a plan in place is someone tested positive. Every other league I've seen has had a plan for if a player tested positive (and it has happened) testing positive for covid can be contained and treated with little interruption or worries. And to baseball it was all money The NFL also has rosters, including coaches, almost (or outright) double the size as well as more teams and less social distancing. MLB had plenty of positive tests just when doing before season training at facilities. If you think the NFL isn't going to run into similar problems (maybe minus the Marlins outbreak....MAYBE), you're nuts.

MLB never even considered what to do if they got positive tests The NFL has more of a plan, which is to say that they've put any thought into it at all as opposed to the MLB's disaster. But the NFL also has very, very little chance of playing reasonably safe. I love NCAAF, but there's no reason to hold a single game in the fall. It's only going to end poorly. Football is f***ed, there's no real two ways about it.

Just like I expected the Giants are above .500 and Donovan Solano is hitting around .470 and leading the league in RBIs.

The Cubs are off to a nice 6-2 start. The starting pitching has been very solid. The bats have been likewise. But, if the season continues, it’s hard to imagine this pen holding up. It’s a mess, with literally no one I feel good about in a high leverage situation.

I would try and get rid of Kimbrel, that experiment is over, dude doesnt have it anymore. Would do Jeffress as set up and Wick as closer for the time being until some sort of thing can be changed with the pen. For more challenging teams the Cubs will be chewed up and spit out with the pen we are running out now. I feel Ross is doing a pretty good job, yeah he has a different line up everyday but its been working so no harm right now. He should try Heyward at lead off, I believe last year he was his hottest leading off.

That's not good
Hopefully, he only lost his phone and can't get in contact with anyone. Tho this brings up the question of what is he doing if he wasn't at the team hotel

Apparently Cespedes is completely MIA and no one can reach him. Hopefully everything is okay. Yikes... It's a really bizarre situation because there are a myriad of results. Sometimes it's indicative of bigger mental health problems. Sometimes it's basically nothing. And of course, other times it's because the guy is deceased. Hope for the best, but I understand why people think the worst when they hear missing and not communicating.

Yea, that's the scary part When things like that happen you assume the worst that the person is deceased because you don't go this long without no communication Can only hope that he just needed a mental break from the team and not answering his phone as dangerous as that is. I assume if they hear no word from him by end of game the alarms will really be going off. They got another game in ATL tomorrow

Good to hear his safety isn't at risk If it isn't mental tho he is going have a lot of explaining to do.

It's good his safety isn't at risk but surely he could have told someone what was happening.
