Turner better goddamn hope he had a false positive and doesn't actually have the virus. Rosenthal already said it's not a false positive. Turner should get a year suspension at least. I'd throw the f***er out of the league. I think Manfred as usual, will give him a slap on the wrist. Mets decline options on Chirinos, Frazier, and Ramos. Chatter that they may go after Realmuto. I do not want Realmuto, I want a trade and sign of Lindor. we need a catcher, good catchers are hard to come by, we do not need Lindor

the Owners have Approved Steve Cohen, the Wilpons are gone There's only one more potential hurdle: Mayor Bill DeBlasio, as the City of New York owns Citi Field and the land it's built on. But from what it sounds like, he's not going to get in the way.
EDIT: Scratch that, DeBlasio approved the sale. Clear sailings for Cohen and the Mets. Now Mets fans gotta hope that Cohen isn't the baseball version of Dan Snyder. Or 80's George Steinbrenner.

Man. Idk what's going to happen with the Mets. We can no longer blame inevitable heartache and disappointment on ownership

I really thought this day wouldn't come for decades. This is the greatest day ever.
Again, I do not want Realmuto. Too much inconsistency. If Cohen's first big move is to give 4-5 years for a catcher who is almost 30, I'll puke.
Bring me Mr. Smiles Steve.

It really is a banner day in Mets history. However good or bad Steve Cohen ends up being, it's difficult to imagine a more disappointing ownership run than what the Wilpons had, starting way back when Fred finagled his way into half ownership after the '86 title.
Biggest thing he can do that'll make me happy is to spend this offseason sinking real money into beefing up the Mets' infrastructure: analytics, health/injury prevention, advanced and amateur scouting, international signings, beefed up minor leagues facilities and other aspects of player development, etc. The Wilpons have kept the organization stuck in 1980 or so for eons now, it's incredible to think that the Mets can actually operate like a big market team now. Even when the Wilpons *did* pay the highest big league payroll numbers in the National League (circa 2005-2009), they never really invested in the major internal improvements that distinguish the best organizations from the also-rans, they just had no clue how to really run a baseball team or leverage their position as New York's National League franchise.

From what it sounds like, most people thought Fred Wilpon was a good owner and everyone around the organization really liked him.
Jeff Wilpon, on the other hand, they weren't so kind about him.

As was expected Cubs didnt pick up the option for Jon Lester, I do hope they can at least sign him to a 2 year deal on the cheap, I feel he knows his career is winding down, he won a ring with the Cubs, and I feel him and David Ross have that strong bond that Jon probably would enjoy continuing to play for him as manager. I could see Lester one day being Ross's pitching coach. Also if you are in Chicago, Lester has bought the city a beer today giving us various bars you can pick up from you just gotta tell the bar to put on Jon's tab.

Reason for Giants fans to be excited right here. I’ve read this kid will be considered the #1 prospect in all of baseball before long.
