latest proposal has the grapefruit league and cactus league replacing the AL and NL for the season, with new divisions Grapefruit East would be nasty with Houston, Washington, & St. Louis in the same division. The Marlins would probably have fewer wins than the Cleveland Spiders this year.

I definitely like the Florida/Arizona plan better than just the Arizona plan. At least teams would be playing in their own spring training facilities.
Of course the biggest issue will be # of tests available to them and how to keep everyone out of harm's way.

Anyone who's bored should watch SBNation's Dorktown analysis on the Seattle Mariners. Like, the guy who won season tickets for naming the team went missing and apparently never was found, for example. Jon Bois is the best sports storyteller on the internet.

Baseball should attempt some updates to the game that the purists hate because there’s no better time than now to try to repair a game who’s average age of viewership is 59.6 years old.

If this Cactus/Grapefruit thing goes through, it'd also be the first time in MLB history where there's a universal DH during a regular season. Mostly because you'd have AL and NL teams in the same divisions, so it'd be a mess to keep things as is.

Hank Steinbrenner, son of former Yankee owner George Steinbrenner, has passed at 63 after a long battle with an illness. It wasn't related to COVID-19.

Today would be a day that everybody in the Majors wore the same number. A day to celebrate one of the most important athletes ever.
Today is Jackie Robinson Day.

I kind of expected it, but the report on Halladay is pretty bad.

The first kid who rang in said "Who is Babe Ruth?" I had no idea until that moment that Babe Ruth was a black man.

Where it's still tragic, but now mostly foolhardy.

Yeah, sadly this is all too common and every few years it seems people need a reminder because of another tragedy No doubt this wasn't the first time he tried this but tragically the last time it took his life

These guys upped the danger of their situations for no reason. And while it sucks to have lost them, they played a major hand in their own demise.

Yea, it just seems like Baseball more than any sport has players pass away young. Look at how hard Kobe tragedy struck NBA because they aren't used to that. You get the occasional tragedy like Eddin Griffin or Lorenzen Wright but NBA doesn't usually get hit hard Speaking of DR, there was a few deaths like Yordano Ventura and top Cardinals prospect Oscar Taveras.

Yeah, as a Cards fan that OT one hit hard. He was so young and expected to be so good. It's a real shame.
