Wait, the Mets scored runs in a deGrom start? The Mets scored 18 runs in a deGrom start? The f*** is going on? You know they blew their load right? They won't score 18 runs combined for DeGrom the rest of the year

The amount the Phillies bullpen blows is historical. 23 runs in 6 games before the doubleheader tonight, and then we had a Bullpen game where 5 runs scored and we lost
Lost 5 of the last 8 games after the 10-11 win streak stretch, a lot of the games because of the Bullpen in that stretch and this entire year have been blown due to a Bullpen that has historically high numbers
Incredibly, four relievers were brought in to stop the bleeding, and have posted a near combined 10 ERA between them, some of them, like Phelps from the Brewers, have completely tanked since coming here, despite being a stud even this season beforehand. It is confounding, but every time it's a guaranteed run or runs if it's not Jojo Romero or Blake Parker, that's the bar that's been set. There have been FOUR GAMES where the pen has blown a run lead of six or more... FOUR.
Phillies have an incredible offense, they honestly could be one of the top five teams in baseball, but this Bullpen has them sitting at 22-20, and struggling once again. Why and how Matt Klentak and the office staff are still employed is beyond me, this isn't even factoring in that JR Realmuto has yet to be extended... this is just hard to watch.

So Boone pulls Montgomery after 5 2/3 innings, 1 earned run, 9K's and 72 freaking pitches.
With the middle relief being as bad as it's been for the Yankees this year, pulling Montgomery is simply asinine at this point.

I did not have Alec Mills on my list of pitchers to throw a no hitter this season but its kinda cool that both no hitters this year have been Chicago pitchers.

Looks like there's an agreement in place to sell 95% of the Mets to Steve Cohen. The Wilpons and Katzes will retain a 5% ownership stake.

Took all of two days for that to even be in doubt at this point. It's a half back and you just trail the Marlins. You guys can pull it off. If nothing else, you can at least take comfort in likely having a winning record, unlike f***ing Milwaukee.

So, it's pretty clear that Houston should just move on from Baker.
But if they re-sign AJ Hinch after he had his one-year holiday, I think I'll bounce from this organization.

Looks like there's an agreement in place to sell 95% of the Mets to Steve Cohen. The Wilpons and Katzes will retain a 5% ownership stake. The Mets last won the World Series in 1986, when Fred Wilpon just had a minority stake in the team. The next year he did some shady maneuvering and got 50% ownership, which became just about full ownership in 2002. Ever since, the Mets have been a roller coaster of mostly mediocrity, a few decent seasons usually followed by just as many or more bad ones, front office strategies stuck in the Stone Age, and more PR faux-pas than I care to count. This has been the reality of the Mets since I was a toddler. Suffice it to say, this is pretty much the metaphorical scene outside Citi Field and in Mets fandom today: Let's just say the ending is David Wright acknowledging the spirits of Gary Carter, Rusty Staub, and Tom Seaver.

Let’s just hope they’ll spend. No excuses to not make bids. Even if they over pay, Cohen can buy his way out of bad signings with other signings. Realmuto and Bauer should get offers from us

I honestly don't really care if Cohen goes big after free agents this year (and, admittedly, I think Bauer's an asshole and would prefer not feeling obligated to cheer him, but that's a different story) - if we go into next season and he's hired a new president of baseball ops, hired the club's first real 21st century analytics department, put money into player development and scouting, and gotten or at least started working towards extensions for Conforto and Syndergaard, I'll throw a damn parade.

Love Thor, but he has to prove he's healthy and all star like before we lock him. And yeah Mets are terrible at player development.

Giants above .500 and can score on anyone not named San Diego. I have no idea what this team is. I was sure they were basement dwellers. Extremely well done job by Gabe Kapler after a scary rough start.

I just want the Phillies season to end, I'm so tired
Over 70% of our games we have lead to start, we are under .500. Our Bullpen ERA is over 7
I have barely been able to stomach 60 games of this let alone 162 that we could have gotten. Front office needs to get cleaved, and even then, just like with the Sixers, the window for this team might have slammed shut if they don't sign the likes of Realmuto and Didi back.
But hey at least we gave up Sixto Sanchez in exchange for Realmuto especially if we let him walk and sign with someone else right? I f***ing hate this.
