It was okay. Riddle is right up there with Charlotte and Roman as guys that ruin entire shows for me. I’m trying really hard not to let him corrupt the rest of my NXT viewing experience but I kind of check out once he shows up.
Not feeling Dream at all right now either.

Last week was great...this week took about 2 steps back
I was really thinking they would have come firing out the gate but maybe their mindset was use this show to just rest up talents coming off of Portland and really start the push to Tampa next week.
Best thing about tonight was Ciampa Pinball.

From what I caught which was the 2nd hour, it was a 6
Nothing really stood out and things felt flat coming off a hot Takeover. Nothing really took a step forward, more so a big step like you would think they should be for this "Mania Season" type build for Tampa

Solid NXT 7
Something I posted in the NXT thread, but fits here too.
I think they realize that 250,000 ish gap ain't closing anytime soon. So no real reason to keep blowing load every week like when the "war" started. Just have some good matches/segments that leave us wanting more. Also focus more on building like network NXT did.
I think mixing in old network NXT style with TV NXT style will strike a better balance.

I gave it a 6. It really didn't do much for me, but outside of the Chelsea Green/Kayden Carter match, nothing was terrible either.

Would have been an 8 but Belair showed up so it's a 7.

Seeing a noticeable pattern emerge in terms of a drop in the scores at the start of the new year is a bit concerning.

That got a 6 from me, dawg. Not bad, just a little disappointing. There were a few decent matches, but nothing wowed me.

No need to fire all their bullets week after week and so now they aren't worried about a down week. What they should be worried about is getting into too much of a pattern of thinking they can throw out weeks like this and their audience will remain no matter what. Not ever week needs to be TakeOver levels but the shows really need to maintain a certain energy....it is why the shows that built to WarGames were so great and the best batch of TV since they moved to USA.

Part of the problem is that the women's division which used to be strong is now in a pretty questionable spot. You have Charlotte hogging up the spotlight in the title scene, she's likely going to beat Bianca leading up to Wrestlemania (but make Bianca look strong in the process), and go onto a feud with Rhea which is going to be pretty uninteresting.
It doesn't help that the Dakota/Tegan feud isn't interesting at all (adding Reina/Raquel to the mix doesn't improve it), and Io Shirai is on the shelf with an injury. Things probably won't improve until after Wrestlemania.
Nevermind the fact that Mia Yim is missing, Candice LeRae only shows up to job, and...yeah.

Yea the strongest aspect of NXT has taken a serious hate lately and it is really noticable. I know I should not judge it completely yet....but this Robert stone thing is not helping Chelsea Green at all she needs to ditch him and start doing some varation of her hot mess gimmick. Bring back Shotzi...the woman eliminates Shayna , loses to shayna has a match with Deonna and nothing The women people want to see either aren't being used more (shotzi) or are injured (Io). No Candice No Mia Yim They need to right the ship and likely wont be corrected untill after Mania.

Best main event match I’ve seen in a long time. It looked like a fight not a exhibition

The women's division could definitely use more Shotzi and an Io return, but I consider no Mia Yim right now to be a positive until they turn her heel or something, I just don't find her interesting at all the way she currently is.

They really should have followed up on the Mia and Dakota match where Dakota ended up getting staples in her head which I think could have helped Mia. But so much is on a holding pattern with the NXT women right now. Mercedez Martinez Shotzi Kacy Catanzaro Are just other names that I am like...where are they , can we get them more screen time.

6.
The CW match was fine. But I can’t get behind Rush as a face.
The mainevent was great.
As much as Takeover was one of the best shows far this year, I just can’t get into NXT tv show. It worked when it was only one hour, but now you have more time and bigger audience. I need something to keep me invested.

Considering that the crowd was still hot for Dakota/Tegan at Takeover after following Lee/Dijakovic, I think the feud still has plenty of legs and interest. The problem seems to be the women in NXT are the most consistent ratings grabber for them and today they only had like 5-6 minutes of screen time total. They're entering into a transitional period where they are going to lose Shayna/Bianca and who knows who else with the brand shakeup post-WM. So they gotta build up Dakota/Tegan to fill the top spots while also introducing and building new girls such as Mercedes, Shotzi and Chelsea among others.

6. At best.
I found the CW title match kinda boring. Not feeling Mini-Balor right now. Should've just given the belt back to Rush.
Great way to showcase Austin Theory....but it gives him a sorta feud with Stone Cold Tommaso Ciampa. Does everyone have to grow a f***ing beard when they join WWE? It's beyond annoying at this point. The dude looks a million times better without it, and sticks out more. What's next, are we going to cover up Humberto's adorable dimples?!
I digress.
The only bright spots were Bianca entering the ring, saying her piece and leaving. But it was too similar to what Ciampa did, just without the "BAH GAWD" at the end. I liked that Belair just left and let the match finish.
Keith Lee, another bright spot, the man just carries himself like a star. And can work the mic. The sky is the limit for him. Dijakovic shouldn't ever be allowed to speak ever.
Grizzled Young Veterans, BIG MEH.
KOR was cute as usual. But that's all I got. Pretty bland show to me.
