Because people were suggesting "what if he just refuses to defend her because she's so bad?!", which is not something a PD can choose to do. This is an extraordinary step that will have professional consequences for the attorney. He is, for all intents and purposes, telling the judge that even with all his training and ethics, he cannot represent this client to the best of his ability. That's going to cause his peers and superiors to wonder what happens if a piece of shit serial killer or rapist ends up on his docket, and if they can even bother giving him the case lest he just say "can't do it". All that aside, he's requested it, but that's no guarantee it'll be granted. The judge is going to have to dig into why he wants out, and then decide if taking the time and expense to get a new attorney is going to have a better result. The outcome of that is still up in the air. I think it's a precedent that needs to be set. Some people are beyond a defense. I see that this is her paid attorney so not a public defender and the point is invalid now. But if it were a PD, some rules are meant to be broken and when someone like a serial killer or a serial drunk driver can't stop and won't stop and they themselves have no conscience, someone needs to be brave enough to say enough is enough. And what happens if you are accused of a crime and no PD wants to defend you? Our entire system is built on the defendant having a proper defense. If the prosecution cannot prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt then their case was not strong enough. And a defense attorney not working to the best of their ability just opens the door to more appeals. There are lots of problems with our justice system, as Sunny being free for so long proves. But the accused having proper defense is not one of them.

Then they can decline anyone they want. If you're accused of a crime "X level of seriousness" well the whole point is to prove innocence. If you have a criminal record? 1. Doesn't mean you're guilty of THIS crime, and 2. Oh you know many of the cans of worms that opens in an unfair system.

They can start basing whether you're worthy of defense just based on "I don't like you.", or "I only defend vegans", or "Ewww, you drive a huge truck, that's not eco-friendly.", or just ANY petty little reason.

Darn, didn't think this would open such a pandora's box but I'm sure others will say that's the result of a prescendent being set. Best to just end this part of the conversation so the thread doesn't get closed.

When did Daniel Bryan become a defense attorney?

This is why her attorney wants out, per PWInsider: In an earlier report, the site noted that Tammy did have a public defender, but hired her own attorney. I’m assuming this is the same person. Called it!

When I got my DUI, I sat down with my legal aid lawyer and he asked what I wanted to do and my exact quote was “plead guilty, they have me dead to rights, anything but a guilty plea is just gonna piss them off more” and he said “probably a good call”.

For some reason, Tammy and her fiance remind me of that couple that stole the ATM in that one 'Breaking Bad' episode.

I mean, court hearings are scheduled weeks/months in advance and it’s standard procedure for a defendant to start with a “not guilty” plea. Tammy is undeniably human scum but it’s sort of a reach to find anything untoward about this.

Her boyfriend is still posting as her on her social media. Looks like her only fans is closed and they're trying to sell the content on their website.

I wonder if she'll get "You Deserve It! *clap clap clapclapclap*" chants at her sentencing.

When she’s handed the guilty verdict, she will also be slopped by Henry and Phineas Godwin.
