His gear needs to go.
It looks like day one Chikara debut guy.

I just watched the vid, marking the first time I have ever watched anything AEW. Love me some Harper. Good promo. Crazy how much more comfortable he sounded. Love how he used the Sister Abigail set-up to throw out to the lariat. The attire (minus the jacket) is hot garbage though. — Absolutely not sold on Evil Uno. Immediate goober vibes. As someone who has watched every AEW, Uno's really good. He used to look awful attire wise and finally got something that worked, but promo wise he's actually one of the best there if I'm being honest. He presents himself like a mob boss, and it extends to the ring where he and Stu wrestle a very old school style and it's really fun to watch. He also has a really awesome Senton. Also man you're missing out on AEW so hard, it's some of the best US wrestling I've seen in years top to bottom. I'd go out of my way to see some of the shows, especially Revolution. Their End of the Year DARK also is a Best Of basically from the 2019 Dynamites with some amazing matches including Moxley vs Allin for free, Moxley vs Janela's Deathmatch is also free on their Youtube as is Cody vs Allin. Darby Allin's really good.

I'm even more disappointed after watching the segment. Everyone thought the promo was fire but besides the Vince line I don't see it. It was.. Alright. Underwhelming, like the whole thing. And his gear is awful. I'm not going to bitch and moan too much after one week, but my interest in DO largely dissipated last night. We all know the real reason you're disappointed is because he didn't have an authentic southern accent damn it!

I now want vignettes from inside of the Dark Order’s temple with The Exalted One sitting at his throne and watching creepers and potential creepers fighting Mortal Kombat/Enter the Dragon style.

I am going to say, it's a little bit weird for 40 year old Lee/Harper to refer to Daniels (who'll be 50 in less than a week) as "old man". Not that 50 doesn't count for "old man", but 40 doesn't exactly count as young and fresh. by wrestling standards Christopher Daniels is practically methuselan. I think Brodie is a good choice. dude can talk. I thought Matt would have made a terrible choice, personally. the Dark Order are suppoed to be serious, and Broken Matt is basically a comical parody of a saturday morning cartoon villain.

His ring gear needs work, it kind of makes him look like just another guy.

I know a lot of people had ideas and preferences for who the Exalted One would be, but the nice thing about following a promotion you generally and genuinely enjoy is that you come to start trusting and rolling with a lot of their creative decisions. I was one of the people who thought Lee paired perfectly with Jake Roberts, but given that AEW's product and booking has been pretty damn strong thus far I see no reason not to give this a chance. Lee's just awesome, regardless, so he'll make just about anything he's given work.

I’m not the only one that noticed during the video that it cut to the stage for a split moment and he walked out of the tunnels in full view of everyone right? Just found it quite funny
I’ll agree with others on the ring gear. I hope that gets changed sharpish however I love the robe
I’m really looking forward to this, been a big fan of the dark order since the first few weeks of dynamite so hopefully something happens for them storyline wise (I know they are #1 ranked tag team but no indication of them challenging for titles)
Oh and I hope his first order of business is to get rid of Silver & Reynolds because they give the Dark Order a real jobber vibe IMO

I really like this approach to it, with Daniels giving Brodie his due, but not running away from a challenge.

Brodie Lee is this generation's Rick Rude.
He appeared on both in Dynamite and Smackdown this week.

Yeah, the attire is really bad. I know he probably wants to move as far away from his WWE run as possible, but the one thing they didn't get wrong is his look. He's a guy that believably pulls off a tank top and jeans.
Honestly, I still think Brodie and Archer should have swapped. Brodie as Jakes client and Archer as the EO.
I'm still so glad he's away from the WWE though.

Archer is a worse promo for the type of work you'd expect out of the leader/central figure of a stable. He's great at shouting eighties style short staccato promos, but for longer form stuff his delivery needs a narrator to explain in more florid terms his philosophy that everybody dies. For examples of this, look at his promo work in the G1 last year, he's great at shouting everybody dies, but his work kind of loses some punch when he has a longer point to make before his match with ZSJ.
Brodie Lee can 100% carry a full speech better, and is a chikara alum so him, Uno and Grayson have way more experience threading that needle through wacky and serious.

That's a pretty badass line. Maaaaan, I get the feeling Brodie’s going to kill it in this role and turn a lot of the naysayers.
