This part was so hard to watch. I felt for David and Sandra. I'm so glad that they were able to meet again. Thank you, Jericho, for bringing them back together. I didn’t cry but from that moment to the end of it I was absolutely choked up. Still am. Sandra is a very wise, wise, good person. What she said at the end, for someone in her position to say, is inspiring. Good perspective to have in life. Jericho is the Mother f***ing GOAT for real for connecting those two. Other than that, not much to add or to say. It’s hard to touch base with this tragedy every time, since then, but I feel this was a sincere, devastating and truthful way to go about it. I thought for sure WWE didn’t look great at all in it. And that’s probably justified. I 100% hope Eddie and Nancy and Daniel are forever resting in peace.

You know, Jericho has had some bad raps in the past few years on him. But when he does something like this (reunite David and Sandra), it makes me go, "Alright, Chris. We good again."

I have to get Chris his due for reuniting Sandra and David, which was a very touching moment in all of this. As far as WWE, I am not going to condemn them so much for the head shots and steroids, everyone was ignorant at least to the CTE part. But watching Vince's announcement now, when the facts of the double murder/suicide came out, it feels like Vince saying, okay I was wrong, but we are never talking about this again. Not because of the horrifying tragedy itself, but because at the end of the day, Vince looked bad.

What's eerie is this time, THIS TIME, he did everything they said he should have done with Owen and to a lesser degree Eddie (no worry of stopping a show, but would a show of best matches and memories have been better?). And it totally backfired. Guess sometimes it's worth being an a-hole.... And why did Chris get the tribute show/cancelled live Raw when Eddie didn't? I wonder.

The Benoit doc did the best viewership numbers of this show, beating out the Von Erich doc 320,000 to 234,000.

I remember being online surfing various forums and wrestling sites up to maybe a half hour before Raw. I shut down my computer to watch Raw, Raw opens with Vince and the announcement, I get back online and most every wrestling news site was down because of all the new traffic so the news of Benoit was very very out of the blue.

I can't add anything about Benoit that hasn't already been said better but I thought Matthew Randazzo (the fifth) came across like a complete bellend. His book(Ring of Hell) has a very similar tone to his comments here. It's well-written and well-researched but, it's very clear from the way he writes that he does NOT like wrestling one iota. It's not well-written. Well-researched, yes, but he goes from great objective research to needless editorializing for no reason way too often. He also has the tone of a wrestling fan who is trying to hide that he's a wrestling fan but he has all these elaborate opinions despite making it very "clear" that he was "not a fan." Like, this is something completely real, he spends a page of a book about the Benoit murder-suicide running down how "useless" Sid was in the ring. If anyone's curious to read it, just find highlights from messageboard summaries and let that be that.

No proof it was due to steroids” bit looked really, really bad.

I remember it so vividly. I literally turned from RAW at 11PM to my local news channel and it says "Wrestler Dead in Murder/Suicide" and I was horrified. In a split second, you go from an emotional night of honoring someone...to that.

I think the biggest reason was because Benoit died while they were doing the who killed Vince storyline, I think that is the biggest reason they essentially cancelled the show.

This might not be the thing I was supposed to take from it, but the biggest thing I took from this...
...man, Chavo is an emotional rock. Strong as hell. That's admirable.

I have to laugh at the thought of an author just going off on a random topic during a serious section of a book. "There were rumors of domestic abuse in the Benoit household. Nancy had told close friends about Chris' explosive outbursts. But if I could take a second to bring up another case of domestic abuse...what was up with Beaver Cleavage? Like, he's a Headbanger, then he's a little kid from the 50s, and his girlfriend is his mom. Then he's a Headbanger again, but not really, and hitting his girlfriend/mom. What was that shit? Anyways, back to the Benoit stuff." And I guess if Benoit had just offed himself, he would have gotten a tribute and HoF induction by now.

I definitely feel for David. I remember in one of Jericho's books, he said the first time he talked to him after the incident he asked Jericho, "Can I still go to the wrestling matches?" But yeah, nobody will touch him. Maybe he can work in a backstage capacity, but I doubt he'll ever be considered for a wrestling position. And even in a backstage capacity I think it'd end up being more of a pity position than anything else... a "We know you love this and we feel bad for you, so here's a job" situation rather than someone being impressed with his work and needing him on board. There are always shindies that would book him. Hell again there was an indy that was willing to book him vs. Chavo (And advertise it) without David having any training. they only stopped because Jericho bitched them out publicly. Oh I'm sure of that... I'm just talking about reputable companies that would be able to give him exposure. They'll most likely steer clear.

No proof it was due to steroids” bit looked really, really bad. I dunno, at the time the mainstream media was absolutely gunning for the wrestling industry. The only times I've ever been subjected to Nancy Grace thankfully, but she (and others) were constantly pushing the roid rage angle. They'd bring in a bunch of jobbers from the 90s to shit all over the business and list all the wrestlers who've died due to drug abuse, including Owen Hart. I don't blame Vince one bit for firing back, and to be honest, it was a drawn out deliberate event. I'm no expert but an act of rage doesn't last 3 days and include phone calls to friends, trips to doctors and Google searches.

I think (my opinion, uneducated, unprofessional) that Sandra has the capacity to forgive because a. like she said, carrying anger and hate only hurts her and it’s not what Nancy or Daniel would want and b. Chris... wasn’t Chris anymore. Between the time of Eddie’s death and the murders, whoever Chris Benoit was was gone. Nancy knew this, she could see it happening and it’s why she wanted him to stop before it was too late. The problem is... it already was and no one really knew it yet. We had clues, but not even Chavo getting the texts put it all together. Sandra has the right to anger. Her capacity to let it pass for herself, for David and for Nancy and Daniel, speaks volumes. She is a credit to herself to be able to do so. And to Nancy.
