Couldn't even see the screen clearly with how hard I was crying at the last ten minutes or so. I also was already of the belief that as a performer Jericho is quite possibly the GOAT but I came away from this documentary with an even greater appreciation for him as a person. Chavo as well. It's heartbreaking, everything they had to go through, but I'm glad David and his aunt have each other. And yet, I wonder if Chavo, having the texts, could have made a difference if he did act on them. If he could have. Not at all. They were sent Sunday morning; by that point, both Nancy and Daniel were dead, and Chris was about to kill himself.

He clearly needs more help, hopefully his aunt reconnecting with him will help him put this to bed (more specifically, his misguided desire to become a professional wrestler as if to clear his father's name). If he wants to be a wrestler because that's what he genuinely wants to do, then all the more power to him. However, if it's simply about clearing the Benoit name, he doesn't need to become a wrestler to do that. He just needs to live his best life. He's said he's wanted to he a pro wrestler for years. He's yet to actually get any proper training to be one. That's why I feel him expressing this just doesn't feel genuine to me.

This was a good doc. I recommend listening to Jericho's podcast with Nancy's sister from a few years back, too. She reveals that both Benoit and Nancy were having some pretty major drug/alcohol issues at the time. From what I recall, they were grieving a lot back then after people they were close to kept passing away. Seeing the knife next to the bed was chilling. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Not that strangling a kid is much better, but damn. Those texts also pinpoint some major issues with the guy. CTE was obviously a huge factor in all this, but it seems like he had emotional outbursts in private years prior based on what we know. It's not like it was the first time he got violent or scarily angry. I am glad that most of the people close to the situation are finally able to talk about it in a documentary like this. I was surprised that they remembered to include Regal's telling interview from the tribute show. The knife actually cleared something up for me that I always kind of wondered. During the initial investigation, reports from the Sheriff's department stating "instruments of death" were found in the house. While this could refer to the gym equipment Benoit used on himself or the cord he used on Nancy, the fact that Chris may considered other weapons found at the scene gives that new meaning.

He's said he's wanted to he a pro wrestler for years. He's yet to actually get any proper training to be one. That's why I feel him expressing this just doesn't feel genuine to me. He's never following through, getting trained, and paying dues. If he was going to do that, it would've happened already. It's also not like he doesn't have the support to get legitimate training or in-ring experience either. People give Chavo a hard time about that one shindie match they advertised, but I seriously doubt he was out to hurt the kid, merely try to give him closure that it "wasn't for him." Jericho stepping in to put an end to it (but no clear resentment from Chavo seeing as they were named by David as people who have been there for him) was kinda like talking him off a ledge because wrestling is still very dangerous if untrained. He's in his late 20s so it isn't too late if he legit wanted to learn, but nobody would put him on a televised show with the inevitable retribution. It's certainly unfair to him, but there isn't much he can do short of doing a full name change/wearing a mask to hide his identity to wrestle.

If he was ever going to do it (and I doubt he will), I think he'd have to use the "Pegasus" name that his dad used in Japan; he'd get his chance to "fix the legacy" without the last name hanging over the proceedings. Still would be too tall a mountain to climb, I think.

My thing is that I genuinely fear for David's mental state.
Not to assume but in a lot of interviews he seems really angry at points and the wrestling thing comes off like him trying to stick it to the people that may have bashed his name. He'll have outbursts where he'll say "People talking SHIT. I just want to hurt them for saying that kinda stuff." "f*** everyone else who didn't help me. f*** em."
He just doesn't seem like he's mentally in a good starting block.

Hopefully his support system stays close and he maintains a good head on his shoulders.

I saw a recent interview with David where he seemed more at peace with everything (I think it was after the Vice documentary was filmed) there are some things u think he has to let go but he seems to be in a much better place. I think a lot of it has to do with reconnecting with his aunt Sounds like he wants to move to Florida for training based on contacts... also never knew that David begged Chris to retire when he took his time off the year before his death. Also in the interview he was asked about his sister and he said she just wants to live her life... but I've also heard that she was never as close to Nancy as David was so that also may be why she doesnt want to talk about it

Everyone seems impressed with Jericho as some kind of truthteller, but I don't kind of get it. He clearly has a whole narrative for it in his head, so his stories for everything are really tight and clear and compelling. And like, he certainly doesn't come across BADLY in the documentary in any way. But he just comes off as a very charismatic guy who's two degrees removed from everything, which is what he is.
Now Nowinski. That dude rules.

Poor kid, but Im frightened that hes a bad day or two from snapping. (Not like his father, but more harm towards himself) It also doesnt help that anonymous internet bullies were making his life a living hell too.

Is the video gonna eventually be released for rest of the world? Have you gone to Viceland's website? On this subject, a person on YouTube decided to take the plunge and chronicled every Benoit match for his last 100 days, inter-spliced with his personal opinions on why conspiracy theories were created and how the reality of a man who clearly had deteriorating mental faculties couldn't be that forward thinking nor someone from that industry could be a victim of a robbery gone wrong. I've always stated that I started watching for real around February 2007, so this is getting towards the tail end of his life (when he was in a feud with MVP that featured MVP beating up local enhancement talent dressed in stereotypical ethnic garb over the US Championship), so I only have experience when he's looking like hell. I could not find this on YouTube. Do you have a link to the channel?

For those who are interested, next week Cornette is gonna interview Kevin Sullivan on his podcast to address the accusations of him hitting Nancy.

I’m finishing the Cornette podcast, Sullivan kinda blames the dark side crew for not doing a better work researching because they didn’t mentioned that Nancy tried to attack him with a knife and she was arrested.

I feel like Sullivan was viewed overall as a minuscule part of the story they wanted to tell. Doesnt make the DArk Side crew wrong or bad but I dont think they were really trying to analyze Nance and Chris... just Chris and how the two got together
