The following message is from #AEW President & CEO Tony Khan...
"Our goal every week with AEW Dynamite on TNT is to produce great shows for our fans, and I believe we do. We felt especially motivated to serve our audience this past Wednesday night given what the entire world is coping with, and hopefully we gave them a well-deserved escape during these trying times.
Everyone at AEW is very proud of what we delivered and humbled by the response and the kind words we’ve received from fans and partners throughout the world. Thank you!
We plan to continue answering that calling with live weekly shows every Wednesday night on TNT, but the time and circumstances aren’t right for the card we had planned next week for Blood and Guts.
That show will happen when the time is right, but what you can count on instead this coming Wednesday night is a great live episode of AEW Dynamite featuring Chris Jericho confronting Matt Hardy, face-to-face, one-on-one, for the first time ever and a tremendous night of wrestling action.
In the meantime, until AEW Dynamite this Wednesday night, please follow us via social media and please be safe and smart so we can get back to seeing you all on the road as soon as possible. Thank you for making this all possible for everyone here at AEW, it’s a dream come true to be able to do these shows for all of you."
I'm glad they did it. Save the match for when crowds are around again, and just continue to have good stories every week until, let's hope, things get back to normal.

I agree and not only that, I guess it would be hard to set up the two ring cage in small venues, empty or not as for as what they have available to run shows in. Plus a hot crowd for a match like that would mean a lot more.

Good thing about AEW is they pivot when they feel they need to. Luckily Matt’s debut serves as a nice supplement draw for the show.

Yeah I thought about this a few weeks ago, that it would be ultra weird to have a bunch of guys bleeding all over a cage during a pandemic. Glad they have reigned it in for now.

I'd much rather Blood and Guts happen in a time where it can be in front of a crowd and when I don't have to be worried about everything while watching so good move on AEW.

Who knows when it'll happen. It could be months. Jericho's got a tour next month

Seems like the appropriate response from AEW. Continue programming as long as they can, but hold off until the fans can come back for this.

They've got a lot of stories they can tell until then. They'll be fine.

I think this is the right call given their circumstances. A dangerous match with likely a lot of color (blood) would be in poor taste at this time, and also unsanitary. The optics alone would be terrible.

Even without Coronavirus, this is too big to do on a regular weekly TV show. They really should do a Saturday night show like SNME or Clash of the Champions to hype this. It can also set the tone for future shows like this in between PPV’s.

Totally get it but not going to lie am pretty bummed as I was really looking forward to the match. Don't know when they are going to have a chance to do it again as it doesn't look to be ending any time soon. However yeah ten guys in a cage together all bleeding would not be a good look at all with the current situation.

By that time Nick Jackson would be back, no? Could be, could not. I am not sure how long they would have had him on paternity leave as it is.

This couldn't have been an easy decision to make and had to have a lot of hesitation in announcing it for fear of backlash... but it's absolutely the right decision.
I love this company so much lol

Well, first time in AEW. But yeah, I remember this match. Damn, 19 years ago. A number of the wrestlers would have been at most kindergarteners by then.
