Has Leelee Sobieski done anything recently? Christ, you could make this entire list just of actresses whose careers just suddenly and quickly ended. Kelly McGillis? Tia Carrere? Elisabeth Shue? Jennifer Love Hewitt? Nikki Cox? Denise Richards? Andie MacDowell? Minnie Driver? Kim Basinger?... I mean Harvey Weinstein probably wrecked a good third of these people's careers just by himself, but man is this a depressingly common thing. That's sadly the fate of about 90% of the actresses in Hollywood. Unless they're a megastar or in with the prestige crowd, once they get to a certain age the work simply dries up.

Heathcliff. There were some failed movie attempts in the 2010s that never got off the ground, now, while the strip is still running, it's basically coasting off it's 70s/80s success (though they did add Cats and Company to the strip):

CSI Miami was a huge deal. Hyped as the biggest show on TV for several seasons. (It never was, but it was almost always in the top 25-30). I remember an old message board I was on having a constant CSI Miami thread for years (meanwhile I gave up hoping for a Las Vegas thread). Within a year of ITS CANCELLATION (there was never an official finale, CBS just cut the episode count for s10 and that was that) no one cared about it and I'm almost impressed I remembered it when I saw this thread. CSI Miami has to have the all-time record for a show being fueled well beyond its sell-by date entirely because of a meme Especially one that is constantly done entirely wrong and was based off of something that wasn't even in all the episodes. Yes, that meme pisses me off to no end.

Yeah... surprisingly the guy that took on Mel Gibson's role ... was also a jackass from what I remember... so he was replaced ... and then I think Keenan Ivory Wayans (who played Danny Glover's character) said he was done and the show ended. Damon Wayans, actually. And ironically enough, quit because he was too old for this shit, so I mean, can't say he didn't get into character. Blah... I thought Keenan sounded wrong... I mean I could have looked it up... but I was lazy <_<

It's cooled off a little, now that those same people's attention is shifted over to the new Nancy, but it's certainly still appreciated.

I know they were different shows but you know.

Quick, without googling someone tell me the lead character in Avatars name Jake Sulley. Mainly because of the annoying pronunciation Zoe Saldana's character uses, which has stuck with me for some aggravating reason. I say Zoe Saldana's character because I literally remember no other character names.

A British centric one. In the mid nineties London's Burning was pulling 18 million viewers an episode and ran for over a decade, yet no modern goer could tell you a storyline, a character or an actor who appeared in it. The earlier series of London’s Burning were excellent. The stunts were spectacular and it had a very memorable group of characters. Another strength was that it wasn’t afraid to kill off major characters, even the original TV movie of it killed off the main character in it. This added a sense of jeopardy where “no one was safe” and ramped up the tension considerably. And then after about six series or so it started to resemble a soap opera and viewers started switching over. Somehow it limped to a fourteenth series but by then it was a shadow of the show it was and should have been put out of its misery long before it was. Shame. Show used to scare me as a child. There was one episode where a guy on a worksite was distracted by his kid and fell into the mixer. The firemen got there and he was out cold and bleeding heavily. Ran out of the room. Saw this episode again last year on Drama - either they cut a lot for the time slot, or my memory had it far more gory than it actually was. Really the killer for the show was bumping off Hallam, and losing the great James Hazeldine in quick succession. The show sort of lingered on with Sick Note, Recall and Zorba, then they killed the latter off in a cinema fire and the entire thing just fell apart. The last few seasons with the hip young with it cast are entirely unwatchable, which is a shame as it had been such a great show in its prime. Although the big shock at the time was when they had Vaseline die in the docks via faulty breathing equipment on a rescue job. Never thought such a big character (he was 2nd or 3rd biggest in the show at the time) would just get randomly killed like that. Grim, but great show. Sadly Hazeldine, off Omega Factor and Chocky too, died of heart problems in 2002 aged only 55.

Another one I feel like has just stopped being a thing is 24. It was huge for years, and constantly spoofed and referenced, but no one ever really brings it up any more and despite having a gigantic premiere the revival ultimately just quietly fizzled out with no one caring about it.
Yes I know they're talking about rebooting it.

Austin Powers never seems to get a mention or reference. Mike Myers in general, Austin Powers 3/The Love Guru/The Cat in the Hat really killed any and all interest in him. He had the bit in Inglourious Basterds but that's a small role and about it.

Quick, without googling someone tell me the lead character in Avatars name I remembered his last name being Sully entirely due to finding it unbelieving distracting that that of all names is what they went with for their big furry blue monster.

He's still pretty big. He's had three songs in the top 5 of the Hot 100 in the past year.

Andie MacDowell? Minnie Driver? Kim Basinger?... JLH is currently starring in a TV show... and has been pretty consistently throughout all of the 2000's. Yeah, JLH belongs nowhere near this list
