Maybe they have a few empty arena episodes post Mania to put closure on everything. But with restrictions in this country getting tighter, I don't see how WWE can continue to have the talent wrestling, even if it's an empty arena. For once will WWE go on hiatus till things get better?

Should they? Yes.
Will they? Probably not. They probably can't at this point.

If HHH was in charge hell yes. With that senile old bastard in charge .. nope !
You're gonna see a lot of wrestlers (sports entertainers) just not giving a shit the next year.

Remember they have shareholders to answers to. It would be easier for them to go on hiatus if they were still a private company but they aren't.

I wish they would, but they won't.

I mean, they would literally have no choice. I think Raws, nxt and Smackdown will all be throwbacks to old matches/segments and then maybe some interviews via Skype till this all blows over

It appears that they are taking at least a week off after Mania, which is a small consolation I reckon
I hope they take off until May (at least) and just put best-of stuff out there for the few weeks that talent don’t come in
One positive for them is that it seems like a good deal of the performers do live in Florida already, but I hope they can just enjoy a few weeks of quarantine like the rest of us

Unless the government forces them to and/or someone catches the virus, they won't.

There's no evidence Vince is senile and that's a horribly ageist comment. Websters doesn't define senility as 'booking a wrestling show the way other people dislike'.

Defying common sense and logic with the booking he has spearheaded the past ten years is substantial evidence that he's not quite all there.

Remember they have shareholders to answers to. It would be easier for them to go on hiatus if they were still a private company but they aren't. I mean, on the one hand that’s true but from past shareholders meetings, they only clearly care about what TV money is coming in and not necessarily the content of said TV. So if USA and the other TV companies were just airing old matches with Michael Cole bits narrating between each match, those same companies would still be paying WWE the money they owe so they’ll honestly be fine. Most of the money comes from that anyway and almost literally nothing else. On the flip side, if Disney, a company with more money than God, can stop literally all productions without much shareholder backlash, WWE can stop doing shows for a little bit.

I'd play classic matches and shows for 2 of the 3 hours of Raw, using one of the hours to keep things ticking over with backstage interviews and skits.
Hour 1: sit down interviews, backstage vingettes
Hours 2 and 3: condensed version of WM14, etc.
I'd dig that. I think forcing WWE to think more creatively about how it promotes its storylines without necessarily having what Vince probably calls 'observed, physical dialogue between two or more participants emulating physicality'. Back in #theday they'd get me excited to see a match between two guys who never touched each other in anger in about 4 months simply by backstage interviews. It's a lost art that hopefully will now return through necessity.

Well, this happened.......
.......so perhaps the trend for a break could grow enough?

Triple h, hbk, and taker built up their entire storyline leading up to their hell in a cell match at wrestlemania 28 with out laying a single finger on each other. Even without the rich backstory the above three had i dont see why completely different wrestlers couldnt do something similar and still make it compelling.

WWE has too large of a roster for someone to not get infected. As soon as that happens, they’ll be forced to shut it down.

I do think they will lay off actually. I think there's a reason they are rushing to film everything they can now. We've heard zero about plans post Mania. I think they will get past Mania, see what the most updated situation is and proceed from there. Most likely they will do interviews and highlight packages and classic content. Even when the situation does get better, I actually think we will keep seeing Full Sail or PC shows for a while still. People might be gun shy about going to an arena full of thousands of people right after a pandemic. WWE might stay at home base for a month or so with what fans they can get.
