I thought this would be an interesting thread. Unfortunately as far as I can tell some are still even still having events with crowds (though I’m not sure if any are in the US) Here is one card from Japan that appears to have just happened in front of 122 people: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=258652Here: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&view=resultsThat link shows results from all over the world sometimes with attendances recorded.

They've been having small shows in Japan for the past week or so, with temperature checks and face masks for attendees, I know Stardom, DDT, Big Japan and All Japan have had shows with actual attendees. DDT actually ran Korakuen Hall with 900 odd people there on the 20th.

DDT actually ran Korakuen Hall with 900 odd people there on the 20th. They also don't put the entirety of the seats. The floor seats seem to have rows with no people that are usually filled and the hard-cam side seats have regular "holes" of empty seats.

The Japanese events will begin to slow down again though. Korakuen Hall was told directly by Tokyo officials to stop holding events, with officials noting that restraint was still needed at this time. New Japan has held off thru at least 4/11, with an eye for late-April as a possible relaunch.
Tomorrow's JTO show is now cancelled again, as are upcoming shows from FREEDOMS, Diana and NOAH. NOAH's 3/29 show is now a zero attendance event, and Stardom is mulling over their Ota Ward Gym show.

I’m surprised Ian Rotten isn’t spreading the virus out there.

Going only on cagematch.net it seems like Japan is the only place in the world still having wrestling events in front of crowds. Some of them aren’t even that small. Like this one: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=259149It happened today (well yesterday depending where you are in the world) and was attended by 162 people. They’re not massive crowds, but that still seems like way too much given what we know.

Kaz Fujita and Go Shiozaki have been staring at each other for ten minutes unmoving to start their title match (no fans).
This is like a fever dream
Edit: the staredown went on for thirty minutes and Fujita drank hand sanitizer then spit it on Go. Just stunning

I think there was a two day show during the weekend. Wrestling Mania or something.

I think there was a two day show during the weekend. Wrestling Mania or something. At least pretty much every indie has stopped running shows, whether the state has mandated them to not exist or not. Basically AEW and WWE are the only companies still having their guys wrestle at this point. And though I can understand that promotions need to promote future events, it's a bad look for any company right now to be trying to actively promote/sell tickets to a live event in the future, because we don't know how soon such a thing will be possible again. Yeah going by Cagematch it’s just WWE, AEW, and a few Japanese promotions. I think the Japanese ones are thankfully having their shows without fans again after having some with crowds. But really they should just stop. Japan may not have as many cases proportionately as the US right now but they also want to stay that way.

I would expect the Japanese shows to drop again. Most promotions outside of New Japan got back into the swing of things too quickly. Korakuen Hall/Ota Gym started admonishing them to the point of cancellations, and now Japan (namely Tokyo) has seen a spike in cases leading to an official State of Emergency. This has to be leading to Japanese promotions all but canceling shows until May or June.

CZW doing the weekly shows makes sense when you realize they're probably most valuable right now as a training school. I feel like a lot of their internal focus is in getting paid to train folks and building them a body of work for the first year or two of their careers.

As expected with the surge in Japanese cases, New Japan have announced the cancellation of all events between 4/19-5/4. This means no Sakura Genesis and Wrestling Dontaku.
I would think Best of the Super Juniors is also unlikely to happen, or at least unlikely to use any foreign talent. Perhaps Dominion will open June as their return show.

Fortunately it looks like wrestling has almost ground to a complete halt with live shows in the US. The only exceptions As far as I can tell from Cagematch is Limitless Wrestling in Maine who are still doing Dojo shows (no crowd) and some random show in Idaho (probably also without a crowd).

It looks like outside of the big guys the only companies still running shows in the US are the two aforementioned promotions in Maine and Idaho. Neither have fans attending.
The Maine one is Limitless Wrestling. Their current shows are done out of their dojo without fans. From a Google search I believe their dojo is actually an American Legion they’re renting out, but I’m not sure.
The Idaho one is the Idaho Wrestle Club. It again is done without fans. I actually found their Facebook page which has videos of this (Limitless does too, but that’s less surprising since it’s a more established promotion). Anyway, the Idaho one looks like they set up a ring literally in the middle of the woods. However, it’s Idaho so I’m sure that is technically someone’s backyard. Also, the ropes on the ring are suuuper loose.

Tennessee All-Pro Wrestling had shows with fans tonight and weekend before last with fans.
And apparently it's the norm going forward here in Tennessee.

Are all businesses opened back up statewide? Are there no limitations on the number of people who can be in a room together without the "social distancing" rules, or did this promotion just ignore all of the above? I’m really curious too. I just assumed they ignored everything, which could end up being really, really bad.

In terms of geography and density, it shouldn’t be possible for a lot of places to have an outbreak on the scale of New York. But they’re determined to give it the ol’ college try.
