I loved it way too much. He really had me sold on everything. I felt the booker in him really explaining everything, pushing stories along. It was very 80s. It was very Vince M. 1987, in a good way.
I also loved all the references. Nick Jackson being like Bobby Eaton. Bill Watts moving the matts on the outside. Penelope Ford being like Baby Doll. Vader bomb. I know there were a few more. Making Tony laugh a few times. Really want more of Cody on the mic with Tony.

The best part was putting over Kevin Nash while comparing him and Brodie Lee, big sexy needs more daily love from folks!

His back and forth with Tony about favorite Star Trek captains was great.

His back and forth with Tony about favorite Star Trek captains was great. Yes. I was like "This is just nice." It felt like friends being real. I do wish Cody had said who his favorite was. BTW I thought the drawing was of Pike.

His comparison of Darby to Sting was one I hadn't thought of and man is it good.

He and Kenny both did good jobs of it, yet in interesting and different ways.
I liked him pointing out details like Guevara's knee-pad being down, the sort of things that a lot of commentary just wouldn't really acknowledge, but which plays into the "presenting it like more of a sport" notion.

His comparison of Darby to Sting was one I hadn't thought of and man is it good. Especially since the comparison was Darby and Surfer Sting, instead of Crow Sting like you think it would be. But they do totally have a very similar connection with the kids and how they show up to events dressed like them. (and the same can be said of Orange Cassidy)

I was going to do a post about it but I think it fits well here:
He called a few time the AEW title by "Big Platinum" obvious reference to the WCW "Big Gold" Belt. What do you guys think of it

I also loved that he posted a drinking game online for it poking fun at himself.
Any time a famous person is willing to make fun of themselves, it makes me like them even more.

Didn’t notice but did he say “wait a minute”?

I missed Excalibur and JR massively this week, but Cody was preferable to Kenny.

That was the good feeling part. I haven't heard in hears anything else but his bum knees. Diesel is a freakin' MAN if you ask me, he's agile as HECK.

His back and forth with Tony about favorite Star Trek captains was great. I dunno if I can endorse him shitting on Sisko and nerding up and WELL AKSHUALLY ing the fact that Sisko was a Commander before becoming a Captain. Also, it was weird and kinda funny how he was taking shots at their own producing of the show, lol.

His comparison of Darby to Sting was one I hadn't thought of and man is it good. Conrad Thompson mentioned on one of his podcasts the other day that his wife called Darby a modern day Sting and I was like “F*** me, that is spot on”. I had never made the connection either

I loved that he kept bringing up Star Trek through the main event match. Though I didn't appreciate him looking down on the motherf***ing Emissary like that.
