I think what annoys me more than anything else is that we wouldn't be facing any of the choices and consequences we are if we didn't ignore this from the beginning out of fear of certain political and financial figures' delicate sensibilities.
The moment the Chinese started hemming and hawing on this thing, we should have had tests sorted for everyone who may want them. Especially for healthcare workers and care homes. The fact that we didn't is why nearly 90'000 Americans are dead. When the smoke clears, it's going to come out that the vast majority of people who are dead didn't need to be if we had been proactive from day one. That's just the public health aspect of it.
What also annoys me is that we wouldn't have to be looking at the economic devastation that we're facing if we had done the above, and actually decided to give people who've been put out of work some sort of lifeline instead of doing what American capitalism always does in crisis situations and say "Welp. Sucks to be you. You're on your own. May the weakest die, and the strongest survive!"
My faith in our country and it's system has really taken a hit here. Irreparably so, I'm afraid.

Great writer but I've always thought Neil Gaiman was an insufferable knob and he's proved me correct by having a bust up with his wife and flying from NZ to LA on to London and then driving to a remote Scottish island just because he can.

Here's a new one: a co-worker just told new that I'm hoping to lower my immune system from wearing a mask. I just ignored him and walked away.

People here are really doubling down on any further aid being socialism control to brainwash the weak, and that people should be allowed to choose to work (the obvious implication being that those that don't are cowards or lazy). Of course it ignores that those who didn't choose to risk their lives would obviously get fired anyway.

We had two different health ministers being fired in the middle of the pandemy.
Why?Because they followed science. The first one was an ardent defender of the social isolation, using science as proof, the second one refused to say hydroxychloroquine should be used to treat covid, you know as it has been proved over and over
Bolsonaro bough and produced enough hidroxicloroquina for 10 years of regular use and is trying to force every state to use it.

You know what my favorite part of all of this is?
If people test positive it only matters if they are certain people, like if you work at a plant like say a meat packing planet and 400 people test positive there, the governors act like they don't count, hows that make any sense?

I really can’t stand the news saying that these partial reopenings may cause a second wave in the future.
The doctors up top have been saying second wave from day one of the lockdowns. That’s an effect of the lockdowns

There's quite a few officials, in various branches of government, who need to be held accountable when this is over. Twisting the numbers to fit their narrative, claiming Americans are willing to die to go back to work, trying to hide data, a lot of scummy shit needs to be addressed.

There’s an interview out with Kane and obviously if you know anything about his political views, he’s not a fan of the lockdown.
He also said the WWE continuing live shows is the right thing to do so I’m gonna question his judgement. 😬

That’s an effect of the lockdowns The problem we have is so many people are dumb and think everything is fine now. Even if 100% of people became robots that listened to every rule 100% we’d still get an uptick in cases and a second wave. That’s just what happens as things start to get going again. The curve flattening was solely about making sure the hospitals don’t get overrun which thankfully didn’t happen. Doctors have been saying a second wave is inevitable since March. Now it’s something the media is pushing as only happening because of “those people”.

I agree with you, it just doesn't help when it seems like something as simple as wearing a mask or not going to a bar to stand shoulder to shoulder is just asking way to much. But again I live in the midwest where literally no one has masks on and the day things opened everything was packed, cause hoax or something.

Sorry to change the subject but my hair is absolutely out of control now and there's no way I can buzz it myself. Is it ok for someone to buzz it for me at home?
