Smallville had the unfortunate luck of being around during the Christian Bale run of Batman movies so that was never going to happen and they tried EVERYTHING....no Batman? okay fine how about Bruce Wayne? no? how about a young Bruce Wayne? no ..how about Alfred? NOPE...trust me they tried and they begged and they were not even allowed so much as a mention there was so much red tape. And there was infact a show about a young alfred it is called Pennyworth it airs on EPIX I believe they are getting a second season. Didn't they have like, two characters that were straight up, "Is this Bruce Wayne? No, but if you squint it's totally Bruce"? Not that I remember. This is the absoloutle closest Batman is ever referenced in Smallville beyond vague speak about a billionare and his toys

At one point Chloe mentions something about a woman of wonder and a billionaire with a dark side or something like that.

Rosenbaum was such a damn good Lex And a great Wally West too. And a great Lex as Wally West. Yea, he was a really good Wally West too. Brought a good comedy to the character and was able to weigh it down when he needed to be heavy too

On a similar note, saw a video on IG the other day with Tom, Kristin and Michael going to get together on video and answer questions about Smallville in a little mini reunion

Honestly, I think it will just be a quiet recast and maybe a cute comment about Kate getting a new hairdo or something. And that will be the most mentioned about it in-show. Other recasts have been pretty quiet, though the only other major Arrowverse character that got a recast was Sara Lance and that was like, someone else playing her for exactly one episode of Arrow.

Yes, Adam Knight (played by Ian Somerhalder) was originally supposed to be Bruce Wayne in the season of Smallville he appeared. As for Batwoman, hopefully this doesn't hurt the show too much. I do wonder what they will do with the unfinished episodes already shot.

Just pull the trigger and do Batman already. Batman would be like the easiest superhero to make a good tv show about. He's got a ton of great villains, even the B and C level guys, interesting allies like Robin and Batgirl, and they could have a will they/won't they thing with Catwoman. The show almost writes itself. I would say do a mini season of Batwoman that's like 8 episodes and have Alice kill her off. Then Batman comes back into town seeking revenge. Boom, first season arc already written.

Turn it into a Bat Family show with Batwing, Spoiler, and Cass Cain (can they even use her?) as the mains.

They literally cast a Bruce Wayne earlier this week so I can't even say "there's no way they'll turn BATWOMAN into a Batman series with a movie in the near(ish) future" with as much certainty as I was planning.
I would instead say "there's no way they'll turn BATWOMAN into a Batman series because the LGBTQ community would unleash unholy hell on WB and The CW."

Well Alice and all the face stuff is there... you could always have her kidnap Kate and change batwoman's face. Lol.
But the smarter way is probably, as others have mentioned, just do it and not say anything. I think audiences are pretty accepting of that kind of stuff, and it's not like they fired her afaik.
I got into this show cause I needed something to watch and the CW app is nice and free. It's sorta cringe at times, but that might be one of the reasons I like it. I hope the change doesn't hurt the show too negatively, heck maybe it might even get someone even better! Who knows. I will say the character I've had the most fun with on the show is Alice and whoever is playing her I think is doing a great job.
I just had a horrible idea pertaining to my first point and the last one... Maybe Alice can make her sister look just like her and the Alice actress can take over for Batwoman too... Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Besides her own show, where else this really sucks is that Melissa Benoist and Ruby Rose had wonderful chemistry together as Kara and Kate. And Marc Guggenheim and co. planned for Kara and Kate to be the new Barry and Oliver going forward. That's new chemistry to build that might not be the same.
I also wanted Katie McGrath and Ruby to be in scenes because I think Lena and Kate would've been fun.

I wonder who they’ll get.
I can’t imagine they would go after a big name since that’d blow the budget immediately. Maybe dip back into the ex-glee cast members bin again?

I have seen some reccomend Wallis Day because she looks abit like Ruby Rose so it would not be too jarring a change and she has familiarity with DC TV shows because she was on Krypton.
