I do wish the camera cuts to the crowd would stop. We just need to hear their reactions, we don't actually have to see it every time.

This is WWE’s dream come true! They can cut to an audience member that they’ve told to react a certain way, and because they’re pre-taped there is no risk of them changing their expression or not reacting how they want!

I think a possible theory is that if they sit, they lose the allusion that there are more people in attendance that are actually there. It will look more empty with them sitting. It sucks, but I don't think it's done out of malice or to build toughness.

It was previously reported that the WWE Performance Center trainees had to endure long (9 to 10 hour) sessions while standing around as "fans" for the recent TV tapings.

Due to the fatigue of the trainees, Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com is reporting that an unknown person actually got on the house P.A. system and instructed them to be more enthusiastic. Giri added that "one source described it as a parent talking down to a child."

It was also noted that the trainees were kept separate from the talent performing on the shows.

Fightful.com is reporting that the Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream for NXT Takeover: In Your House match was taped outside but there was a delay in the filming process:

“The recruits were asked to show up at 7, but the downpour in the area kept delaying things. As it turns out, most were waiting around until midnight before they actually filmed the In Your House match.”

The trainees reportedly only got time to sit during the match breaks.

My only conclusion to this is that they've all worked fast food/retail and remember "if there's time to lean there's time clean"
