Their influence was great and had an impact however, because you can see a lot of CHIKARA Alumni and people who competed on CHIKARA Shows a lot, on mainstream TV even now. Gargano, Owens, Gulak, Cesaro and The Young Bucks being some big ones. Sara Del Rey being one of the big trainers for the WWE as well. I can think of at least one more popular member of the AEW roster that was in CHIKARA... Chuck Taylor! ... oh and some other guy that is using a different gimmick but whatever >_> Super Smash Bros and Brodie Lee are of course two examples that are (well, mostly) using the same gimmicks now, or at least, there is a direct through-line for them.

I also remember CHIKARA used to do a thing where Icarus would beat you on your last match so in kayfabe they were so humiliated losing to Icarus that they left the promotion. Which is why Cesaro and Sara Del Rey's last matches in CHIKARA (And I think Del Rey's current last match ever in a promotion) were against Icarus, lol.

Anthony Franco and Matt Turner were basically two ROH Trainees at the time and for some reason Quackenbush thought it was a good idea to put them against Necro Butcher and Mad Man Pondo who absolutely kicked the ever loving shit out of them in a shoot at the 2005 TWGP. The result, is the infamous Samoa Joe vs Necro Butcher match where Joe almost killed Necro in retaliation. Franco and Turner both basically retired from wrestling like a year later respectively.
I remember when "Right Leg" Andy Ridge was touted as a future star for Ring of Honor at one point, and then, maybe in one of the more ironic fates ever, he broke his leg and that basically ended his career.
I also remember Beautiful Bobby Dempsey was another ROH guy that never really made it past a point.
On the subject of ROH Talents, The Bravado Brothers felt like they should have been way bigger than they were. They really got better as time went on and then they just sorta... stopped wrestling in like 2013 when they had a stint in Noah. Their last tag team appearance I see documented was Tag Team Apocalypto in TNA in 2016, three years after they seemed to stop full time wrestling

What's Jimmy Rave doing these days? Still wrestling, actually had a career resurgance in 2019 where he, per Cagematch: Prominantly now wrestles for CZW. Reunited with DA EMBASSY with Prince Nana and Sal Rinauro for CHIKARA King of Trios 2019 Won a GCW Battle Royal at "A Tribute to Homicide" Won and lost the STAR Pro Heavyweight Title Competed for: Warriors of Wrestling, On Point Wrestling, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment, ZERO1 Usa, Synergy Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Magic, and Pro Wrestling Explosion He was also the world champion of Grim's Toy Show's little promotion they do online in 2019 as well. Talked to him a few times on socials, very chill dude, grateful for the fact he can still wrestle and make this sorta comeback. He's only 37, which is crazy because he's been around FOREVER.

Glad to hear it. I always has a soft spot for the guy and he was one of those guys in ROH who I saw and thought of as something different. Really bugged me how his TNA run was kind of meh, though I guess he still made out better than a lot of guys did.

York had major drug issues. He semi retired. Then came back about 5 years ago. Lots of the Chikara guys got Quack stink on them. Quack has many enemies and lots of them dont use anyone Quack trained. Crazy to think about Quack having so many enemies when CHIKARA used to have so many connections before. DragonGate, ROH, Shared a training school with CZW at one point, numerous Japan promotions like Osaka Pro, Ice Ribbon, Sendai Girls, Big Japan, etc. Even the first National Pro Wrestling Day. I guess the story for those ended badly though. I know hiw dealings with Skyade did. Big thing with Chikara trained guys (at least for most years not sure about now) is they were trained in lucha libre primarily which is trained to work the completely opposite side of the body that the rest of North American wrestlers work which makes for very awkward matches. But there's also the coming that guys who were trained by Quack are trained to think everything is like Chikara and it rubs people the wrong way. But yes Quack is a big reason that several of Chikara's big stars never got bigger breaks. And for those asking about Jimmy Rave, he is head trainer for CZW's school

A-1 was a massive roid monster from mid 2000's TNA. He was part of the Team Canada stable but unlike his stable mates he couldn't wrestle worth a damn. He looked like someone WWE would have signed around that time. The Impact Zone faithful would relentlessly chant "you do steroids" and "you can't wrestle" at him. I remember on an episode of Impact, Team Canada leader Scott D'Amore couldn't get through his promo because of those chants. D'amore finally lost it and screamed back at the crowd "YEAH, WELL, HE CAN STILL KICK ALL OF YOUR ASSES!!!" I seriously LOL'D I have no idea what happened to A-1 after probably 2005.

I loved how in ROH instead of throwing the traditional streamers at Rave they'd throw rolls of toilet paper at him. I heard Rave had a bad drug problem that helped derail his career. I respected Rave since around 2008 after reading about how he ran an indy show after the promoter skipped out on the show. Rave wanted to give the paying fans their money's worth and did his best to salvage the show.

A-1 was the epitome of a John Lauranitis guy when he was head of talent relations. High on steroids, low on wrestling skill.

Johnny Ace probably meant to hire him and accidentally just offered one of those two a new contract by mistake.

I also remember Beautiful Bobby Dempsey was another ROH guy that never really made it past a point. I'm still not sure that falls on him, or ROH creative being in turmoil at the time. It's clear that in 2007/2008 he was building to break away from Sweet and Sour Inc. and the fans were behind him big time(kind of like a beta version of Otis). He broke away, feuded with them for a few shows and then was just back to being "ROH Training School Graduate Bobby Dempsey". Kinda sad. He wouldn't have been world champ by any means, but he could have been a homegrown opening act guy.

Yeah I believe Rave said that his drug problem was really bad during his TNA run and that it killed his career for a few years.
