I was able to take a trip, the first big trip I've taken since before COVID.
We could have done something sooner, but we didn't want to eat into our savings and I wanted to have more security in place with my new job.
Anyways, we went to Glacier National Park. I initially suggested Yellowstone, but my wife suggested Glacier instead. I took her recommendation and she was absolutely right.
Not only is it absolutely beautiful (every picture we took could be a postcard), but we also got to see lots of wildlife that we wouldn't be able to see otherwise; big horned sheep, moose, black bears, etc. I've never seen lakes where the water was crystal clear, you could see 15 feet all the way to the bottom. The trails were great, I love getting an early morning hike.
We ended up staying in a few motels that were very 60's retro, but clean. Very little internet and cell service while we were out there, but honestly you didn't need it and I didn't miss it.
I got to try several new foods, most notably several products made out of huckleberries. I never had huckleberries before, and I would describe them as a cross between a grape and a blueberry. If you ever get the chance, get some huckleberry pie. It's heaven.
We were there for 5 days, and probably could have stayed for 5 more, but unfortunately we both have a life to get back to. I hope to eventually go back. Montana and Idaho are absolutely beautiful.

Her birthday is Tuesday. She is scheduled to work. But I have managed to talk someone into taking her shift.
And got everything worked out for her birthday surprise.
Gonna take her to see a movie Tuesday, then dinner with some friends. Plus as a bonus surprise while she is at work Monday driving up and cleaning her place and getting her laundry done.

That with everything that went wrong yesterday I still kept my temper in check and she had a good late birthday.
First off I got my days off and thought her birthday was Tuesday. So arranged for her to get that day off. Got us and 2 friends tickets to see Beetlejuice 2 and had her gifts wrapped and ready.
It was Monday. She wasn't mad. She is use to how my memory can be. But I was mad. Still kept that under wraps.
The friends going with us are usually known for being a bit late so we showed up way early and still just made it to the theater to see the tail end of the last trailer before the film started.
Then thru out the film had a kid with light up shoes behind me to my left making the shoes light up,and some jackass way way up front taking selfies and sending them all thru out the film.
I stayed calm. I didn't throw my drink at the selfie asshole. I did turn and glare at the adult with the kid and after doing that 11 times they got the hint and the kid kept their feet still.
After film drop off friends and start the almost hour drive to my place where her car is. It is 11pm. She had to work 10 hours Wednesday, prepping for the hurricane. Stop to get gas,low gas light came on,station is only one in a large area, and pumps arent accepting cards. Cool stay calm go inside pay in cash. Get to door wont open. Sign on door "Be back open soon."
See dude to my right that looks like he knows where you can sell a catalytic converter fast for cash. "How long that sign been up?" get told he has been here 10 minutes......
Look inside, looks to me like a shift change. Ok why is the doors locked and all this.
21 minutes later doors get opened. I stay calm.
The day kept trying to make me explode I didn't.

I noticed One Piece on bbc iplayer, turns out they've bought the uk rights to over 1000 episodes.
I liked the luve action version so hopefully I can get into it because it should last me a while.

All my friends and family in south LA and MS came out of Francine safe. One lost a pile of his stuff.
But the local indie community is already getting him fixed up.
No damage up my way, never even lost power.
Thought I was gonna do like when I was a kid and hurricanes hit,go sit ont he back porch and read comics till the power was back on.

Watched Ready or Not for the first time this evening. Bloody great movie & darkly funny too. Samara Weaving is one of the best horror actresses I’ve seen recently & hopefully will become iconic for this generation.

Co-worker brought his new puppy to work. There was much oooh-ing and aaah-ing from everyone. The adorable little thing fit in the palm of my hand. I wish I had pictures, but I was too dawestruck to get any. He was back today!!

I ordered a pair of wrestling boots last night for a Halloween costume idea. It amuses me.
