Watching a guy speak in the alley between an adult bookstore and a crematorium, pretending like that’s where they wanted to book was pretty terrific. Never pick a fight with Philly. We have ways to destroy you that you simply can't comprehend.

I’ll say it again, you’ve had your fun. Now that’s enough.

I know, everyone is excited for that Mass Effect remaster collection. Until they realize that they have to go through the third game again. Mostly just the garbage ending. Even the 'fixed' ending was garbage. But it'll have the citadel DLC and that was worth it.

Had my first REALLY busy day at my new job, and gotta be honest, it actually felt kinda nice to be in the weeds again. And it felt even better when I realized I was back in the bartending groove.
Also, I live in Philly. That's all I'll say.

I got to speak to a whole bunch of people who were an infectious mix of happy, relieved, and giddy.
That did my heart good.
Had more than a few people text me saying they were happy for me.
Beyond that? New System of a Down music!

Sibling found an Indian cuisine delivery place, and it was good. In particular, chili chicken and chicken masala was nice, but the one I liked the most were the samosas. I'm a sucker for fried bread with filling inside of it. The roti was also nice, just putting the sauce and meat on the bread and eating it. The problem was that I had to balance eating the stuff with the flatbread and also trying to eat it with rice.

Just the beautiful weather we are having here in the east coast. It was so nice in Philly and down the shore over the past few days.

This takes a bit of explaining, but...
I work for an auto insurance company as an adjuster. No humble in the brag to say I'm consistently one of the highest performers in my region and in the company.
Recently, we all got word that due to the drop in claims due to lockdowns and all, they would be folding my department of skilled adjusters into the "First Notice Of Loss" department so that we'd all have more to do. Basically instead of addressing claims that actually had issues, I'd be dealing with those as well as a ton of "can you get my cat out of a tree?" claims.
I wrote to the department head to say that as long as they're paying me the same I'll do what's asked, but I think it's not a great use of the company's resources to have someone with my skills working on claims that could be handled by a rhesus monkey if you could teach it to type.
Turns out they agree. I'm getting moved into a specialized position dealing with problem claims and a quick path to promotion if I choose to seek it.

Got to spend some time with my godmother today for the first time in awhile. This time last year, she was going through a real rough patch with her physical health and it wasn't looking good for awhile. Now she's perfectly fine and I'm happy she's still in my life.

My Dad officially met my puppy - they’ve met over the field before but never one on one - and bonded with him instantly.

I visited a local cat cafe today. I'm intrigued, what is a cat cafe? Never heard the term before If Garfield is serving my coffee, I may have to move Coincidentally, the neighborhood the cafe is in is, in fact, named Garfield. No, I’m not joking. A cat cafe is like a regular coffee shop, but with a separate room where people can play with cats for a small fee. The cats typically come from a nearby shelter, and can be adopted. To date, 215 cats have been adopted from this cafe.

I love cat cafes!
Something I just learned (and this is absolutely not intended to be a political post whatsoever and should not be read as such): the incoming Second Gentleman grew up in my hometown. Confirmed it on his own Twitter account. Famous people like Kevin Smith and Jon Bon Jovi have come from the area, but this is far and away the most famous person to actually come from my hometown. Pretty damn neat.
