I didn't realize Onward ever actually got a theatrical release. I wish I could have seen it there.
I think it was only out for a week before everything shut down.

Frozen 2.
Beautiful animation, convoluted story.

Frozen 2. Beautiful animation, convoluted story. Though this time I thought the songs were even better. “Show Yourself” felt like a stadium anthem, and Anna’s “Next Right Thing” choked me up.

Call of the Wild (the new movie). It was fine. Lots of differences from the original book (although one change is understandable given modern society's tastes). Making most of, if not all of the animals CGI for the whole movie was distracting at times, although I get the filmmakers wanted expressiveness out of them that you couldn't get with real animals.

Uncut Gems during the first week of January.
There were five or six other people in the theatre. One was a young couple who must've expected a typical Sandler movie because the girl made them leave after 20 minutes. Felt bad for the guy as he laughed at a couple points.

Sonic the Hedgehog.
I was super ready to see Black Widow, and then this pandemic took over all 2020 plans.

Saving Mr. Banks...which should tell you how long it's been since I've been to a theater.

Last one for me was The Hunt on March 13th about 4 days later the lockdown restrictions came in. I go to the cinema a lot so at this point I'm jonesing for them to reopen in about a month's time. As someone who lives in California, my brother-in-law told me about how theaters were re-opening. However, with the spike in cases, I know that didn't happen out here. I wasn't sure if I was ready, but as someone who actually loves going to the theater, I was really looking forward to it, even if it meant waiting a bit before it would be safe enough to go.
