The apology was over the top ("I will never forgive myself"), but the liked tweet he deleted makes it clear the apology is bullshit.

He just liked this tweet then deleted it a few minutes later when he was called out on it so something tells me he still doesn't realize what he's done wrong and why he even has to apologize. Wow, yeah he truly doesn't understand why he has to apologize. Ugh. This dude is trash.

Heard that tweet was photoshopped.
With what has been happening recently it wouldnt be surprised if it was fake.

I think he meant to say that the screen of Sammy liking it is photoshopped, not the actual tweet. Anyway, even if it is legit, I'm willing to give him benefit of the doubt on people accidentally liking tweets/instagram posts/whathaveyou because from personal experience it is so f***ing easy to do.

This is probably the "best" apology so far. I honestly don't think he should be fired for what he said but it should be his absolute last chance.
Also I've always hated twitter showing posts that you like on your feed. The amount of times I've looked at twitter when just waking up and by scrolling liking something by total accident is at least 5 to 6 times a day.

It's probably more likely that he accidentally liked the tweet. I'm not saying that doesn't mean he agrees with the tweet, but most people who are remotely social media savvy in 2020 (Note that the apology is unconditional) would realise that liking a tweet like that makes them seem completely deranged and addled, especially if they're about to issue an apology.

Problem in this situation, among other things, is as long as Sammy is under your employ, if he were to ever do anything to a fellow co-worker, the lawsuit and negative PR that AEW and the Khans leave themselves open to would be staggering. It's a risk that probably isn't worth any reward. I don't know the first thing about Sammy Guevara the person, so I have no idea if this guy has the legit issues in his head, but I can't see from a business standpoint how you issue a statement that says, "Sammy was sorry. Tune in Wednesday to see him and all the stars of AEW on Dynamite" and just move on. Dude has a HUGE red flag attached to himself for the rest of his career.

MJF has been accused of making horrible comments to another worker too. Between these and the story Darby Allin told about his treatment of homeless people a lot of these newer guys sound like, at best, complete assholes. The MJF thing, to me, sounds like friends going at each other that went too far. Hell, I have group texts with friends that are just like that. If we take it too far, we talk to each other. Plus, the guy posting that went the "Jewish" route. Sorry, but that's a big bunch of meh from me.

This is a touchy subject, but my personal opinion is that the joke was in EXTREMELY poor taste, but it has to be considered that it was made by a 22-year old in 2016 and it’s not entirely fair to look at the comment through a 2020 lens and try and ruin his career over it. This country has had some rapid, much-needed progression with social issues over the last 6 months that, sadly, exist as recently as four years ago. The “joke” that Sammy made - using that vile term in a context that trivializes sexual assault - is something that was borne out of the “Jersey Shore” mentality that was prevalent in the mid-to-late 2000s and which Sammy was obviously influenced by.
In my opinion, Sammy’s apology has merit and, and long as he never does it again, he doesn’t deserve to lose his career over this. This isn’t anywhere near the level of the other stuff that has come out during the ongoing speaking out movement. The “joke” was in poor taste, and should never have happened. It wasn’t funny and should never have happened. But, i think it’s important that society seems to be progressing to a point where people are actually being held accountable for this kind of stuff. As long as Sammy grows up, learns from, and moves past this I don’t think it should be a further issue.

Yeah, not for nothing, but "let's trace if Sammy hit like on a bad tweet and then unliked it" is a bridge too far for me, sorry. That's creepy ass social media obsession, and it's getting really old. Chelsea Green's on Twitter now reminding people who are basically flooding WWE's wrestlers' accounts to come out and say something in Sasha's defense within an hour of something being posted that they need to get a damn life at some point. At that stage you're not doing anything constructive for victims, you're just trying to make yourself look big by doing the equivalent of going to a comment section and writing "FIRST!" Linking due to language in the embed.

The apology was over the top ("I will never forgive myself"), but the liked tweet he deleted makes it clear the apology is bullshit. Why was it "over the top". This is where a guy is "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't". If he doesn't apologize, he's a scumbag. He apologizes, he's still a scumbag. I agree with others that said he only needed to apologize to Sasha and then his employer (maybe family). If the general public doesn't accept it.... there is nothing he can do about that.

This is where a guy is "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't".... His apology was fine up until the the phrase I pointed out. Especially when juxtaposed with that tweet he liked. Fat fingered or not, you don't get both "society is soft" and "I'll never forgive myself".

Jeezum Crow... I know you're young, but you can't excuse age for being a pig, Sammy.
AEW seriously needs quality control when it comes to social media, like other users have suggested. Several of the talent clearly need chaperoning.

If only the front office was as clear about this, and others. Unlike Big Swole, the front office has legitimate power and has to consider its options. Do you let Guevara off with a warning, fine him, can him, send him to sensitivity training etc. It's only 2PM in Florida.
