Charlotte Flair was attacked on RAW last night by Nia Jax. The attack will provide the storyline reason for Flair being out of action due to a legitimate need for surgery. According to reports from both the Wrestling Observer and Talk Sport, Flair needs surgery. It is unknown what type of surgery Flair needs, however. According to the report from the Wrestling Observer, WWE is hopeful Flair will be fit to return in time for SummerSlam. According to the Talk Sport report, however, she is not expected to be able to return by then. “There is hope she will be ready for SummerSlam in August. However, that’s not 100%,” reads a report from the Wrestling Observer. “The idea is that she will return around Royal Rumble season next year, but if a good story pops up before then – around Survivor Series – she would be open to return later this year,” reads the report from Talk Sport. “There’s a 0 percent chance Charlotte returns for SummerSlam,” TalkSport says its sources told them. In addition to requiring surgery, Flair is said to be run-down from the rigours of WWE’s schedule over the last few years. In addition to being attacked by Nia Jax, Flair dropped a RAW Women’s title match to Asuka on RAW. Flair also dropped the NXT Women’s Championship to Io Shirai recently in a match that also involved Rhea Ripley. www.sescoops.com/charlotte-flair-needs-surgery-timeline-for-return-unclear/

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. That woman only knows how to work hard, so her body takes a beating.

you don't like to see anyone get hurt, but some time off would do her some good.

So when she comes back, she'll be a babyface against Nia presumbly.
She'll exceed Big Show's record for turns one day

But I feel that the time away will be good for her as well. Not even creative wise, but she's someone WWE relies on for a lot of PR too. Even when she was not wrestling at times she was always on the go/ Rest up and recharge.

Watching the Fightful Raw review earlier and they brought up that she could be injured and the clean tap out to Asuka & attack by Nia made sense.
I was assuming she would face Nia at Extreme Rules after the attack but nope just a way to write her off.

I guessed as much after Ric's promo and everything. Hope recovery goes smoothly for her and it helps reset things for her when she returns.

Hate to see anyone go out with any injury but she desperately needed to just get away and let people kind of forget her for awhile.

“There’s a 0 percent chance Charlotte returns for SummerSlam,” TalkSport says its sources told them. So, she's beating Drew then.

Did they have to use Nia for this? A bit tone-deaf, that.

Did they have to use Nia for this? A bit tone-deaf, that. I dunno you could say she's the perfect person for it. someone interacts with Nia and suddenly there's an injury, totally believable.

Wow, both the top names in the women’s division out of the picture possibly for the remainder of the year (one definitely is, anyway, probably longer too). Hopefully they’ve covered for this situation by building up a bunch of other talents to fill the void...
...What do you mean only Asuka, Bayley and maybe Banks?

I do find it hilarious that they have used Nia for a legit injury angle.
I do hope she has a quick recovery.

Wishing her well in her surgery and recovery. Even as a fan of hers, I'm with everyone saying the time off will be a blessing in disguise for her.

I’ve always thought Charlotte was talented. Won’t take that away from her, but honestly the only time I found her likeable was when she was a babyface on SmackDown a few years back and teaming with Becky. More of Ashley was coming through in her character the same way we’re seeing more of Joe in Roman and she was pretty cool.
I haven’t found her that likeable since but I’d never wish injury on the girl. I hope she takes the time to really recharge and not rush back into things.

Maybe running Charlotte ragged by having her bounce around every show and be in a major spot in every division wasn't good for her overall physical state and was running an increasing risk she'd be working hurt.
