Only exceptions are New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts... for now. That's why this little coalition in the Northeast has been so adamant about quarantining anyone for two weeks that comes from a dangerous state like Texas, Florida, or Arizona. Of course, our four states were among the first to get the virus, but we also did everything right we could and have had a slow, yet steady process of phased re-openings. April and May were really bad here and that's with even all the safeguards being taken. But we've mostly contained the virus and fewer and fewer new positives, positives, and deaths are being reported daily.
But yeah, these four states are the exceptions to the rule. Unfortunately, a perfect storm of selfishness, malice, and ignorance has f***ed over the rest of the country.
We can toss Rhode Island in there, too...I know, Massachusetts will just say "eh, they don't count, they're basically part of us", but no other state has as high a testing rate, and RI's current positive results rate is down around 1%, compared with the 5-6% national average (and much higher numbers in the current hot spot states). Aside from a slight spike in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has also been doing really well lately If WWE starts funneling stars through here to avoid quarantine orders after tapings that could change but still

For reference as to why AEW and WWE continue to run shows, FOX and Turner have started canceling sports contracts recently. Turner got out of their UEFA Champions League and Europa League contract and FOX is looking to get out of their US Open Golf deal.

What a news it would be if AEW was cancelled in '20. I bet people would miss it! AEW is the most I’ve enjoyed wrestling since the end of Lucha Underground. If they go under, I’ll probably stop watching altogether.

If it goes down, I can see me being off-handedly curious about New Japan or Vince’s horror show but das it. Much like Star Wars, my interest would be near kaput. There goes my two biggest/only fandoms lol

Yeah, if AEW stopped running shows, I'd watch New Japan when I can and that's probably it. No way in hell am I watching WWE again anytime soon.

Not saying you're inherently wrong, but that company has burned way too many fans.

My decision to stop watching WWE is as much a moral one as it is because of the quality of product (or lack thereof). It's why I stopped watching NXT altogether even though I thought it was genuinely good.

You know? Maybe this is a situation where I can understand them keeping shows going? If the choice is definitely going under or someone MAYBE getting a virus, part of me can sort of see why they'd want to keep doing shows. I'm kinda conflicted on it and if that makes me sound callous, I apologise. I obviously don't want anyone to get the virus, but if there is no way around this, maybe AEW have no choice but to keep doing shows? It's a thing where there are no real easy answers.

That's the choice a ton of businesses have had to make. AEW at least has a little money to survive for a bit in a limited capacity. Most don't.

I think it's commendable they've been able to keep going without laying off a single person (at least that we know of). But for safety's sake, I really hope they focus on a blocked taping schedule unless TNT is putting the screws on them for X live shows a month.
