Wasn't his first Universal reign in 2017, not 2018?

Lou Thesz was AWA World Champ in the 30's, and NWA World Champ in the 40's, 50's and 60's. I'm too lazy to Google the exact years.

Well Terry Funk was a world champ in the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. And that doesn't even count his Roman territory titles

Verne Gagne was a World Champ in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Surprising part is that Verne didn't find a way to have a run in the 90's.

I don't think Gagne held a world title in the 50s. He was never NWA world champion and the AWA didn't really start up until 1960. Thesz did win his first in 1937, but a knee injury and working as a dog trainer during WW2 kept him away from the ring for quite a bit of the 40s. He did get the NWA title finally in late 1949, so he barely got in there for the 40s. From there of course he held the title for much of the 50s and also regained it from Buddy Rogers in 1963.

Decided to look back at some of those AWA & NWA titles. Things look like a hot mess. It does appear Verne was acknowledged as NWA World Champ by one territory in 1957, while Edouard Carpentier, Killer Kowalski, and Lou Thesz were recognized as the World Champ in others. I don't know who is officially recognized by the NWA itself as champ during that period, but if you go by Wiki (yeah, I know, always 100% reliable) it lists Thesz, with the others listed in the footnote.

Verne Gagne was a World Champ in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. And he would have in the 90s hadn't the AWA gone under.

Absolute inspiration for anybody who wants to change their career "late", like Goldberg starting in his 30's
