Also, I know he doesn't represent all of you but I still want to apologize to any vegans here for his stupidity. He comes off like the real life version of Daniel Bryan's 2011 heel character.

Corona is bad, but the worst virus of 2020 might just be people on every side of everything calling people 'Karen' as the world's lamest and least original strawman.

Banged on about this before but every SM insult from snowflake to gammon to SJW to incel is initially useful in describing a certain mindset but gets so overused it invariably ends up meaning “person I dislike”. I was on reddit last week (god knows why) and the neckbeardy lads are running it into the ground, it was on the title of every other post on the main page, they are over the moon that they have a new word for women since PC gorn mad told them to stop calling women bitches or see you next Tuesday’s. When misogynists like Aries start using it you know it’s original usage as a representation of a moaning middle aged suburban white woman is well in the rear view mirror and it’s a term all women are going to have to get used to hearing.

If it’s that bad maybe they should make it mandatory to wear a mask, not optional like they have in most if not all places I live. Make it law. It’s hard for me to understand the gravity of the situation when it’s still handled so half-assed. Take where I live. Masks are “mandatory in indoor public spaces” where I live as of tomorrow. But not at workplaces. And if you don’t wear one you won’t get charged or anything. You’ll probably just get your picture taken and shamed on Instagram. Well how does that help enforce it? If they tell me I *have* to wear a mask I will. But where I live it’s still if I choose to. Maybe that’s why I’m not taking it as seriously. In most places, it is mandatory to wear a mask, just as it was mandatory to stay at home. That's why so many places worldwide are entering phase two of the pandemic and so much of North America is stuck in phase one. The half-assed handling is because your leaders are f***ing up. Please follow me on this: South Korea and the United States both had their first recorded case of COVID on the exact same day. All of South Korea shut down with strict stay at home orders. The majority of America had some form of Stay at Home at the start. One state that didn't have any Stay at Home or mask orders was Iowa. Fast forward to today, July 1 2020. More people have DIED from COVID in IOWA ALONE than in THE ENTIRE COUNTRY OF SOUTH KOREA. South Korea Population: 51,269,185 COVID Deaths: 282 Iowa Population: 3,155,070 COVID Deaths: 717 Iowa, showing what happens when nobody is wearing a mask, currently have over two-and-a-half times the amount of DEATHS (not just cases of infection, but DEATH) as an entire COUNTRY (which has SIXTEEN TIMES THE POPULATION) where COVID was taken seriously from the jump. Still with me? OK, now, the reason your leaders haven't done more to help you is because they've politicized a pandemic. They're either succumbing to the fears that they themselves are going to be blamed for the pandemic and are now opening everything too early to keep up appearances OR they're more concerned with your local economy than your own life. Right now, the ones keeping things open in hopes it "looks better" are the ones - not coincidentally - whose election day is approaching before the projected second, and much worse, spike/peak of deaths. That's why your leaders are f***ing up and why you, yourself, should be taking this more seriously. Do you understand now? Even if I broadly agree with your point of view on taking this seriously, this kind of patronising and somewhat aggressive arguing benefits no-one. Especially when a lot of what you're saying is wrong anyway - South Korea famously didn't impose a national lockdown or strict stay at home orders. time.com/5830594/south-korea-covid19-coronavirus/None of us are experts here, so there's no point acting like we have all the answers. I'm in favour of people wearing masks because it can only help, but the reality is that the evidence behind it is limited (as you would expect) and countries have managed to suppress the virus without making people wear them. New Zealand being one.

I'm in favour of people wearing masks because it can only help, but the reality is that the evidence behind it is limited (as you would expect) and countries have managed to suppress the virus without making people wear them. New Zealand being one. I stand corrected about South Korea and the masks/stay at home orders. Pretty interesting to read exactly what South Korea implemented at the earliest stages to avoid all this. From the article linked in that article: "At the start of the coronavirus outbreak, South Korea had been caught off guard; a slow initial rate of infection quickly metastasized in mid-February. But unlike in the U.S., which confirmed its first COVID-19 case one day after South Korea, a robust public health response kept reported cases under 11,000. Compared with the U.S., South Korea on a per capita basis tested three times as many citizens. The ability to test and trace every infection and their contacts is one of six conditions the WHO says should be met before any society can reopen, and South Korea shows you don’t have to be an autocratic system like China’s to introduce these kinds of expansive measures. By April 24, more than 589,000 Koreans had been tested in the same way as Park Hong-cheol, in large part at drive-through and walk-through facilities that delivered quick results. The government provided free smartphone apps that relayed emergency SMS alerts about spikes in infections in neighborhoods, and updated national and local government websites that tracked cases. Infections with only mild symptoms were treated at temporary facilities to allow hospitals to concentrate on the most acute cases. As a result, South Korea successfully flattened the curve in 20 days without extreme draconian restrictions on freedom or movement. “The faster we find the contacts, the better we are able to stem further spread of the virus,” South Korean Health and Welfare Minister Park Neung-hoo tells TIME. Still, he adds, “finding a midpoint between economic activities and containing an epidemic outbreak is a delicate balancing act.”" time.com/5829383/asia-reopening-coronavirus/

South Korea also didn't need to make masks mandatory because like many other East Asian cultures, people wearing masks when they think they're sick is normalized behavior and not seen as an affront to "MUH FREEDUMZ!!!"

While it was always bad everyone being at each other’s throats for everything is the worst virus of the year 10.5 Million Cases of Covid-19 worldwide. 512,000 deaths. Millions more still suffering and having to face life-long struggles after "recovering." I'm still leaning toward Coronavirus as the year's worst virus.

COVID-19 is definitely going to sweep at the annual Virusy Awards.
It's up for Best Virus, Best Original Virus, & Virus of the Year.

It got disqualified for Original virus because it came out last year. Technicality, I know but the IOV&DR (International Organization of Virus and Disease Recognition) are very strict with these things.

I mean, this is the same guy whose response to being accused of sexual abuse during the height of #SpeakUp was to show an interview of Christy Hemme laughing off live sexual abuse from Aries on a TNA show so I'm not exactly going to go ahead and call this man "bright". And his explanation about how it wasn't sexual abuse was that it couldn't be because Aries didn't want to have sex with her.

Also incredibly fast implementation of testing, quarantine with support, and their government accurately presenting the gravity of the situation. As Chaz said, they had their first case the same day we did. And Seoul has a population density comprable to NYC.

The United States' handling of COVID-19 outside of a handful of states has been the equivalent of the Springfield tire fire. Compared to us, Canada is doing roughly a gazillion times better. NY,NJ,CT is doing okay Rest of the country need to get the f*** on board *Looking at you Florida* PA's not been doing too bad. We're going back up but we've had a good common sense response for the most part.

Being you're a native Texan, I'm genuinely interested in your perspective on this: is it finally time we start looking into messin' with Texas? Texas has the problem of blue cities layered amongst tons of red counties. Their views aren't invalid but the vast majority of Texans live under blue mayors who have anything they say cut off at the knees by a red governor. Not trying to be super political, but Greg Abbott could have had his cake and eaten it too by saying he fully supports any local ordinances. Dallas, Austin, ETC. could have passed laws while he hand waved it and said "wasn't me!" Instead he went the opposite way and said "everything is open, deal with it". He's closed the bars since then. That's good, but it isn't enough. Glad I can work from home and I live alone.

I cut two people I actually liked loose on Twitter for liking his shitty take, one of them even said, "Yeah, this actually makes sense, unlike Low Ki's dumb take".
I don't have f***ing time for this shit in my life right now.
