Q1: MJF/Wardlow vs JE: 799K(425k demo) Q2: Archer/Janela brawl, promo package, beginning of Shida vs Penelope: 727K(378K) Q3: Shida vs Penelope: (787K)(377K) Q4: Cody vs Hager: (783K)(384K) Q5: Ending of Cody vs Hager, Darby vid, Beginning of PP vs PnP(814k)(403K) Q6: PP vs PnP, OC/Jericho brawl: 724k(358K) Q7:Taz promo, beginning of BF vs Omega and Hangman,(709K)(333K) Q8: BF vs Omega and Hangman (645K)(316k) Wow, and everyone here was so against Hager and Cody main eventing. I said they were the hot hand in viewership. I even thought "Hey they put the tag main event on last, everyone here will be happy", and this is he result. Maybe because of Sasha and Io it wouldn't have mattered, but the fact Cody and Hager was the viewership peak, it looks like a lot of viewers tuned out after the fact instead of being kept around. I know some people weren't keen on this feud here but when I saw the press conference do good numbers I knew the match was going to. I like Best Friends but the match was a predictable outcome, you could argue Cody's would be too, but yeah, it just shows what potentially could have been. At least the main held on in the key demo against very strong competition, which might matter more than the raw viewership. Also like many thought PP vs PnP didnt have enough behind it and fans tuned out, nothing wrong with the match it just was supposed to involve Sammy and Matt, that's a lot of star power and interest ripped from the feud. Props to Shida/Ford and MJF and Wardlow/Jurassic Express, they killed it and earned that viewership as well.

I'm not surprised by the Best Friends bleeding viewers because I know my interest certainly plummets any time they're around.

Khan knew going in that Io/Sasha was going to be the main event. Omega and Page are draws, but they're not the type that can draw vs. a broomstick. Omega/Page vs. Lucha Bros or Bucks would have drawn a number. Against Best Friends does not. Hindsight is 20/20 but Cody/Hager probably should have main evented. It still would have lost to Io/Sasha but it wouldn't have been a drubbing.

Is it hard for AEW to tell people to GO TO THE f***ING GYM AND LOOK IN DECENT SHAPE? FFS it will only do him and the product better to look the part of a WRESTLER. What infuriates me is that you could tell if someone is even trying (Jungle Boy has put on some muscles, despite him putting out a promo earlier this year criticising people who said "he should gain 20 pounds"..but still, he took that f***ing advice and looks to be bulking up). Why is f***ing Chuck Taylor happy being a slob?
It really does seem like Chuck does not even try. I buy his "best friend" shtick with someone who is in shape like Trent as much as I buy Omega the geek being friends with someone cool like Adam Page. That tag division is the best in the world and those are the top 2 teams? ffs.

That tag division is the best in the world and those are the top 2 teams? ffs. So "Being chunky or looking in decent shape" matters for being in the main event when in WWE, one of the people in the main WWE title picture is Otis? And yeah he's big, but the dude is a ball, and they CONSTANTLY play off the fact he is huge, and eats a lot of food. Going even further back, when was this a problem with Kevin Owens? A dude who is by all accounts average height, has a huge ponch belly and has always had a huge ponch belly, and wears a shirt during his matches. Oh yeah, he's a former world champion, and has multiple accolades as well within the company The narrative that Taylor turned viewers away because he has a slight stomach, is ridiculous. Say what you want about the quality of the tag team or who you think deserves it more, but Chuck Taylor has been a wrestling workhorse, for decades. He absolutely tries, and always brings it. Dude's been working his ass off since the Mid-2000's, and has put on absolute classics to back that up in the likes of PWG and CHIKARA to boot. He's older, he's not muscular like Trent, but I feel like the body types play off of one another very well in the tandem, just like how Chuck is the goofy one and Trent tries to play the more straight man of the team. All that aside, I think it's disrespectful to say Chuck is "Happy being a slob" or that his body shape matters in the slightest when in wrestling every shape and size is what one of the gimmicks to the entire point of the sport is. And for as to why Best Friends are "One of the two best teams", when AEW needed them, they were there, at the Georgia tapings, probably performing like five matches in a day, and going up the rankings when like half of their tag teams if not more, could not even travel to the US. They got rewarded with a title match. Should Cody/Hager have mained? Who knows if it would have mattered, but I find it unecessarily cruel to harp on body types in wrestling where if the person performs well it shouldn't ever matter, and Chuck Taylor in fact, performs well. I also think it's really just a dick move to criticize Omega not being a believable friend with "Cool" Adam Page because "He's a Geek". Like you're plunging way too hard into a deep end here.

I also think it's really just a dick move to criticize Omega not being a believable friend with "Cool" Adam Page because "He's a Geek". Like you're plunging way too hard into a deep end here. Well here's a few things. - Do you think I enjoy Otis being in the main event picture? Lol the guy is a mid-card comedy guy with some potential feel good moments..in the mid-card. - Considering KO: I always think his ceiling is upper-mid card with few ME appearances due to his look. He's not someone you want to plaster on all posters. The reason there's not much IWC backlash against his shape is because the guy is a workhorse who can deliver GREAT promos, bumps his ass off and can deliver in the ring most of the time - I don't buy for one second that because his gimmick is to be a goof so he stays out of shape, don't give him excuses. All I want is to see someone put in some effort on looking good and like an athlete, he is in such a bad shape and I wouldn't call it just a "slight" stomach. He's not hopeless, a decent diet and some cardio work could do wonders for him and in 3 months he'll look much better, but there he is a year later and looking as bad as ever. - His work prior to AEW is really irrelevant, especially if his peak was early 2010s? - As far as me looking at Page and Omega, I should have added "although it might be part of their arc". It's also part of their chemistry. Look at that hype video promo for the match, Omega says "you're like my bro, best friend" and Page doesn't reciprocate it and kind of cringes.. literally how i see it. I guess I don't have a problem with it because Page isn't selling it. However, if Page starts selling it and being all buddy BFF with Omega, yeah, then this i won't buy at all.

Sorry we're just gonna have way different world views on this. Don't care what a wrestler looks like as long as they're a good worker and can entertain me. The fact that people really feel the need to shame them over that or feel the need to say "They aren't someone you would put on a poster" due to how they look, honestly is a mindset I wish I would see die in wrestling as a whole.

Chuck Taylor looks like someone who would be a jobber on Mid-South TV in 1982. As in bigger and more athletic looking than a typical WWF jobber, who were scrawny and there to get killed. He would be Mike Bond or someone, a guy with decent size but not really in good enough shape or looked a bit too goofy to give a push. I think the match Best Friends had with Hangman/Omega was a pay off to the hard work they had been doing during the pandemic. Keep in mind they managed to make all those GA tapings and as a result racked up several wins and were a logical contender to give a title shot to on a show like Fyter Fest.
I probably would have mained Cody/Hager as well because I would always defer to a singles title main eventing a show over a tag match. I know AEW wants to feature tag wrestling, but tag stuff shouldn't be main eventing over singles title matches.

I really don't care what Chuck or Trent look like, I mostly dislike them because they're basically completely devoid of personality and their ring work is about as bland as possible. About the most interesting thing either of them has going for them is that Trent never sells anything.
Hell, half the time I catch myself starting to call Chuck Caylen Croft because he just leaves me with no lasting impression whatsoever.

Going to be interesting how the qtrs break down this week. I think AEW would have won the night had Mox/Cage been on as scheduled but the only 2 segments as of now that I see NXT winning would be Yim/LeRae and Cole/Lee. Seems like both shows kinda threw in the towel.

I really hope the Jericho/OC match does well. They’re really hyping it, but the spoilers are everywhere. I’m assuming most people actually counted for ratings probably aren’t all over twitter seeing them, but it could have an effect.
