So it’s live now and I’m watching an old episode of monk.
It’s kind of a pain to navigate. It won’t connect to my chrome cast Gen 1. And supposedly I was supposed to get a 3 month trial period for signing up on an android but I have no idea how to verify that
I really hate that it’s not on roku as my chrome cast keeps getting disconnected

I’m currently test driving the free version. It’s a VERY sparse offering at the moment in terms of the archive, but I like the live streaming Olympics channel. But that you do not offer full libraries for stuff like Chicago Fire, Police, Med, Law and Order and SVU at launch is nuts.
Then again, Joy of Painting and Johnny Carson are nice.

Peacock doesn't have the classic seasons of SNL, and if you want to watch the old Law and Order episodes, you have to upgrade to Premium. When I tried to watch Today, it said my video configuration isn't compatible with Peacock. It's also not available on Roku or Amazon.
This service sucks.

I spoke with an agent, and apparently, there is no web version of Peacock. You have to download the app and can't just watch on the website.

Peacock doesn't have the classic seasons of SNL Look, if you're going to offer *all* of your classic stuff, either have it all, or don't f***ing bother. HULU has 90210 but is missing a crapton of episodes, a lot of them kinda important ones due to music rights. If you can't have every episode, do not even bother. Just pisses people off

Was going to sign up for the free tier, but not after hearing that. EVERY major streaming service allows you to watch on the website without having to download an app.

I'm not even seeing the app in the Google Play store. Am I alone?

Let's review:
Not available on Roku or Amazon No 4K or HDR Locks old Law and Order episodes behind a premium paywall Doesn't have all the old SNL seasons Video configuration problems (Apparently, you can't have more than one monitor) Can't use a VPN Losing titles already
I predicted Peacock's launch would be worse than HBO Max's, and I was right.

Peacock now has all of them, but it sounds like only for Premium, which I have because I have Comcast.

I just don't get why they are stingy with SNL..... I get music is an issue, but you can just cut out the musical parts. We know the Seasons right after the original 4 or 5 are not great, but at this point.... who cares? You have a platform that needs content, so why not throw it up there. People who have never seen it will want to see how bad it is and people that have might want to see it again for the goof. I guess Lorne really is stingy as hell.

When I posted on another forum that Peacock is already going to lose titles someone said that Netflix loses titles every month.
Except Netflix still has a lot of great original content, like Orange is the New Black and Bojack Horseman. Peacock has reboots of Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster.
And at least you can watch Netflix if you have more than one monitor.
And Netflix doesn't think locking old Law and Order episodes behind a premium paywall is good business.

It's so disappointing to hear that Thursday's "30 Rock" reunion episode is nothing more than a veiled advertisement for the Peacock streaming service. During its peak, "30 Rock" served as an occasionally devastating commentary on the status of NBC, unafraid to bite the hand that feeds, going after topics such as "The Jay Leno Show" or NBC Universal's acquisition by Comcast. But now, after seven years away, the show will return as an hour-long commercial extolling the virtues of their parent company?

Day one, and already found problems. In that episode 6 of Cleopatra In Space is missing. Get you act together NBC, unless it is on purpose because of the episode subject matter was about a pandemic.

At the moment, highlights of every episode (including the non-Lorne years) are available on NBC's website. They dont have full episodes obviously (due to music rights) but at least you get to see a good chunk of the episodes.

If they are unsuccessful, HBO Max and Peacock could merge and call themselves Max Cock.
