I don't see what the big deal about young people seeing Batman Returns is. Children are going to have to learn about deformed sewer people and sadomasochistic leatherclad vigilantes someday after all.

The first movie wasn't exactly kid friendly either, so Batman Returns was hardly a departure in terms of content.

Yeah we all came out of Terminator 2 fine. Terminator 3, that's a different story that we don't talk about.

I wanted to see this so bad as a kid, probably 7 years old? Parents wouldn't let me. Watching it as an adult, I can totally see why. Penguin is an ultra perv. And having watched it just a few weeks ago, there's a lot that holds up even else after #metoo the last couple years.

Better to learn it from your friend, Tim Burton, in theaters, than from some wild haired weirdo on the streets.

Movie is rated for children 13 and older. Don't take your children under 13 to see it. Seems simple enough.

"Everything kids love is being used against them" "Like what?" "Clowns"
Kid, it's a franchise where the biggest antagonist is a clown. What did you expect? Film critic my ass.

But Batman is a comic book character, and comic books are for children, therefore Batman Returns is a kids' movie. And how dare Hollywood try to do something different. Had to argue that a hundred times for a lot of movies... I remember stopping a lady from renting Akira for her 5 year old because "it's just a cartoon".

If you take you child who is younger than 13 to a PG-13 movie, you have no right to complain. If you do, you should be deemed a "FAILURE OF A PARENT" with a big ol' rubber stamp, right on the middle of your forehead.
