It is still crazy to believe that him and Seth didn't ever get that RKO counter down until they actually did it at Mania and Randy legit lost his mind over it lol I nearly fell out of my section when I saw that in person. I popped as hard as Randy did himself. Lol I was watching it on TV and my boy Facetime me like I told you, you should have came I'm like damn I def should have

I mean the timing is great... but like... I never really liked this counter... cause... Orton could have literally moved and Bourne would have landed exactly the same I know you're half joking but I'm not sure about that if you take it to a nerd level. Kayfabingly speaking the RKO would have drilled his face into the mat rather than just landing on his chest!

I like the Seth one better, but at the time, this was great.

To me the best RKO counter is still the one out of Undertaker’s Chokeslam at Mania 21. Curb Stomp is number two. A lot of the time the super RKO reversals end up looking so convoluted that it’s hard to lose yourself in the moment when it happens.

I mean that 1 he did to the kid in the pool was pretty epic.
But seriously the curb stop counter is the best

The first time he did the mid-air RKO was on Rey just before Mania 22. Did it, walked straight out like a boss.

.......that's really incredible. Unlike the 20 other times this has happened where someone jumps and gets hit with the RKO like an idiot, this is a move where you can understand the victim truly being a victim. There's ZERO way he saw this coming when he jumps. Orton being quick as a roadrunner is just gold here; the fact that he wasn't on his feet (a fact I forgot before seeing it here) and hits it makes it even more gold.

Two St. Louisians coming together for an iconic spot? My inner homer squeals whenever I watch it.
The legacy of Wrestling At The Chase lives.

I think I remember disliking this at the time for the same reason other people said about it being quite a poor spot if you look at it too closely or think about it at all - but it really is quite impressive to look at.

I was in the crowd live for this and it’s still the coolest spot I’ve ever seen in person.
