I’m not a Star Trek guy by any means. It’s one of the fandoms I have just managed to completely avoid the entirety of my life, other than watching one of the Abrams movies at a friend’s house. That said, this doesn’t look all that bad to me, and having two former Survivor contestants on the writing staff has me interested at least.
And Tawny Newsome is great. So I might check it out.

Just realized that part of the tagline seems to be "this is what happens far below the bridge."
So right there, they acknowledge "this is beneath Star Trek." Not even sure if they know they're saying it in that way, either.

This looks like some producers saw Rick and Morty, checked what IP they had and said to some people make a R&M show but with Star Trek.
Yeah not remotely interested in this, looks stupid.

Star Trek is capable of comedy. It can't all be serious. Star Trek has done comedic episodes very successfully. I can think of a handful of Voyager episodes mostly centred around the Doctor, several DS9 episodes, and a half dozen TNG episodes. Trek can be downright hilarious when it tries to be. I'm certainly not against the idea of a Star Trek comedy series, but this looks painfully unfunny. First thing that comes to mind was a perv commissioning Quark to make a holo program of Kira for ....... purposes. Odo caught Quark scanning her for this program so they went in and edited the program so that the hologram of her had Quark's head. The results were absolutely hilarious.

Coming to a streaming service I don’t have, so I won’t bother.. A Cat person though, did no one working on this show watch “Final Space” another recent sci-fi animated comedy set in Space and see that it also had Cat people among the main characters? I actually like Final Space, is the third season far away? Star Trek has had cat people since the 70's.

I dislike Voyager but all time favortie comedy Trek episode was Bride of Chaotica. The one based around a holodeck program modeled after 50s movie serials. Hilarious all the way through.

For me, the humor in Star Trek is far better when it's subtle. Worf falling off the plank into the water in Generations isn't near as funny as his guiding Keiko through her birth, or his reaction to Quark telling him Keiko was pregnant again.
I think it's way too easy for humor to be forced in Star Trek.

I feel like this only works if it's revealed this entire show takes place in a holodeck and the characters are just bored children of officers on some long ass boring mission

It's sad to see how far Star Trek has fallen. I mean, it’s kind of relieving as a Star Wars fan. Like, we got problems too, but damn.

Some of the Star Trek games in the 90’s continued that crossover as well, I believe.

Some of the Star Trek games in the 90’s continued that crossover as well, I believe. That would be the Kzinti, shown here in the Animated Series episode The Slaver Weapon: And yeah they hail from the Known Space series by Larry Niven who wrote the aforementioned Slaver Weapon episode. Funny note, after this episode they were never referred to again until episode 7 of Picard where they were finally mentioned onscreen for the first time in 45 plus years.

M'ress belongs to a race of cat people called the Caitians and they were also in at least one of the TOS movies and in one of the Kelvin timeline movies. Apparently they and the Kzinti were intended to be like Vulcans and Romulans where they were originally a single people but split off into two distinct civilizations.
